The thing about humans is that they are sensation seeking creatures and that it may be hard to get passed habits. We enjoy routines and many people depend on routines for there daily structure.

It seems that when we quit one habit we are really trading one habit for another.

I have two suggestions. One: buy as much pot as you possibly can and roll it into a single massive joint (multiple ounces if possible). It absoliutely has to be a single joint (no left overs) and you have to be alone. Leave the TV off and have no distractions. No books, no magazines, no stimulis. Now try to smoke it all. Just sit there with your thoughts focused on the joint. Push yourself. When you feel like you can't smoke anymore, smoke more. make it a chore. Smoke all of it then pass out or try to go immediately to sleep.

Two or in addition to One: Beforehand plan out a series of days at least three when you have vacation or free time. Plan the day to be as full if possible. If you have people that you are afraid that they'd find out about you r use, maybe parents or etcetera. Go hang out with them. Go to an amusement park ALL DAY LONG. Make your days as full and exhausting as possible. Go rafting or something. The point is to have your mind off of it and you unable to use it. Soon enough you ought to realize that it has been soom days since you've had it.

So here we go into day 2...
I feel a lot better than yesterday. Every time I think about smoking a joint, I have been getting on my exercise bike, and will bike for 15 minutes. By the time I am done, I am too tired to think about it. Hopefully that will help me get through this... Exercise is definately healthier than smoking.

I just read the post about rolling a big joint.
Tried that, believe it or not. The first time I had attempted to quit, I was 17. Someone had told me to do exactly what you said. Roll as much weed as possible into one joint, and smoke it by myself.
Well, it was 34 grams, and I sat and smoked the whole thing. If I remember correctly, it took me 3 hours to smoke it. Afterwards, I ate some munchies then passed out.
The next day, I was up at 5:00 am rolling a joint. I had forgot that I wanted to quit.

It takes 3 days really before a person starts shaking off what I call feeling dry. You have to keep in mind that for several years you have been enhancing sights, sounds, smells, feelings, etc.. While returning to normal mode everything is rather dry, dull, and without much pleasure. It will get better, sounds like you are doing OK to me, just do not weaken at any cost.

All right.
I hate this feeling I have. It's almost like loosing a friend!
But it's 9pm... Day 2... no drugs. Although I feel like crap, at the same time, I am very happy with myself for having made it this far. I know it's only 2 days, but like you can see in my other posts. This is a lot for me.
I hope you're right about this three day hump!

i find its easier to forget about smoking pot if you change your environment by going on vacation or switching your routine around...i have quit pot before for a year and i never stopped missing it but i didn't have any problems not having it around...there's a difference between wanting to have fun and physical cravings

ever get addicted to tobacco? it feels like your lungs are pulling you toward the cig shop for YEARS!

I try not to be negative.
But this has to be one of the stupidest posts I have seen at this site.

You have not lost anything. In fact you stand to gain everything by what you are doing. It is a matter of you being in control of your usage or life. You should feel proud that you are trying to improve your situation. You should be pretty much at the bottom by now, so there is only one direction to go now..towards a better life. Remain in control of the situation, and you will be rewarded.
