Yeah, I have mine turned down to where there is no smoke (can barely see something when you exhale), with the last one starting to get "smokey". On a "perfect" vape should you be able to see smoke, or should you not really see anything? Maybe that is why it takes more for me using the vriptech. I will try cranking mine up a little (have it on about 3 right now) and see if it irritates my lungs.

I am right on 4.5 and I leave it that way. You can see the vapor its like fine mist or light smoke just no burning. I experimented at first but find with mid grade to upper grade commerical Mexican 4.5 gets me three turkey not large size oven bags full. The third bag is not fresh tasting but it still works. I do crunch down the third run through and fill the bowl two thirds full with ground material. I would love to hear some results with chronic. I have found that it takes about one third bowl full to get two killer bags full of vapor. The turkey size bags are great.

Well, I started out assuming I was going to get the Volcano just because it seemed to have the best reputation. Gopal has caught my attention with the Vrip, so I looked that site over thoroughly. They both look good, but the conflict has me stalling on which to get.

What does the left overs look like? It should be a golden brown color, if its still green you probably aren't getting all you should from the sample. I thought a good vrip was supposed to be visible, and if it tastes good its in a good temp zone, as it goes too high it starts to taste a bit roasted, somewhat like burnt popcorn flavor.

I have probably said enough, but you might consider going with the vriptech set up, which is cheaper, and more versatile to see how you like vaporizing. If you like it a lot (and you probably will) then spend the bigger outlay on either the fancy vriptech set up or a volcano. Thats all

wellman if you want a budy of mine is working on building a volcano from the ground up he went and got all the specs on the volcano as soon as a few more parts are gotten a hold i''ll see if i get get the how to with pics off him so everyone can own a volcano. it'll also be one step up as this one will be able to show you the exact tempature its vapeing at.

Most of my friends have a Vapor Tech [www.vaportechco.com] they all seem happy with them $150.00 I cann't smoke right now[drug test] but after they busted Tommy Chong I bought one and lots of spare parts so I'd have it. We don't know what that crazy son of a bush will shut down next.

vriptech is the only other system that delivers quality vapor like a cano IMO.. steinal or makita heatgun, vriptech vaping bowl, and your own bong and your on your way... and to take a step up try getting their valloon to fill up balloons of vapor, its all glass and even suppose to taste atad better than the cano, the downside is its glass and glass breaks..
madprofit.. keep me posted on ytour buddies homemade cano. is he using the aluminum heating element and thier temp regulator? you mentioned digital readout on the temp.. will this monitor where the filling chamber temps at or the temp of the air being blown out over the heating core?
freeradical..Ive been vaping at 4.5 on the cano first bag the past couple days, thinner vapor but lots tastier.. it seems that on the pot.tv viper sho they run it on 9.. seems way to harsh but thicker stonier vapor IMO.. even the pics on the cano at the top of this page seem like some thick vapor you would get by cranking it up to 6-7 or so, wouldnt you agree?

It is mostly green with a brown tint, but when you can really see the "vapor" it irritates my lungs causing me to cough. I too put water in my water pipe, may try adding some ice. Would be intersting to know for sure what that optimum vapor hit would be, getting THC while leaving the nasties behind. You might be right though, I believe the volcano suggests a temp of 6-9 for vapor.
