I’m considering getting their heating gun. The sears model looked very nice, but I’m a bit concerned about the narrowness of the attachment on the end. Also, I guess I kind of feel the heat gun they’re using must be more compatible in some way that I’ll probably not understand until I’m sitting down to get ripped.
The sears heat gun is actually made by the same company as the ones they sell at vriptech.com, steinel I believe. Anyway the sears gun is made by them and one of the models sold on vriptech.com is exactly the same as the sears model except one says steinel and the other says sears, the better model they sell has a digital readout of the temperature, while the lesser model and the sears model does not. They all have ceramic core heat delivery (no metal fumes) and continuous heat control. The digital readout would be nice for sure, but the $100+ extra dollars for the digital model made is seem more like a luxury than necessity. As for the small attachment on the sears gun, it is just a slip on piece like an attachment for a vacuum cleaner hose. Without it on the gun fits perfectly into the bowl sold by vriptech. The manual on vriptech.com talks aobut the heat gun issue.

Now, you were saying that it’s not a “real vaporizer.” What do you mean? It does deliver the same quality of vapor with the same lack of plant fiber burning, correct? In other words, it’s still a clean vapor, right?
I meant its not a vaporizer in the sense of a vaporizing one piece machine. Like there is a bread maker machine, but you can make bread without a machine. Other vaporizers are machines, vriptech sells tools to extract the vapor, not vapor extracting machines. Quite trivial really. It does indeed deliver very clean vapor, as clean or not clean as you want it really since you have complete control of the temp.

Last and least I wonder if the water tool they use would work better than my bong.
Again its a matter of the benefit being worth the $$$. Their water pipes shape would make holding the heat gun and hitting a little bit easier perhaps, but neiter myself nor anyone else has had trouble using my bong, which is very similar in size to yours. If the extra cost don't mean shit to you, by all means splurge. I can't say I wouldn't like to have the set-up with all the bells and whistles, but you can use the sears gun and that waterpipe you have and get great results you won't be disappointed with at all. It does live up to the hype.

And they will get cheaper. The Volcano could use a few minor refinements, I see a new improved Volcano and I see rip offs, some worse, some good, some better. Quiter blower, digital readout, built in scales, stealth mode models. If it works we will buy it.

The vriptech is awsome, but to me, it is a hassle, especially if two people want to use it.
Just curious, but whats the hassle. You just mull up the weed, load it in the bowl and inhale. If two people are doing it, you just load it again when you are done and its their turn. How is the vaporbros. different in this regard? I pretty much just smoked out of bongs before vaporizing, which was usually the loading of small personal bowls, so the vriptech was really no change in that respect for me.

Also, the vriptech didn't conserve more herb, but used more than I would normally smoke out of a pipe. The vaporbrothers on the other hand was VERY efficient, but it did take longer to get the "effects".
I find this interesting and surprising. I have found it takes less weed to get high with the vriptech than it does smoking from a pipe and the high is much stronger and cleaner. I use about the same amount as when I just smoked from the bong.

You can't argue with experience. I am not sure what you mean by smokey and clear. I can see the vapor when I hit, its not clear, but not smokey really either. Its thinner than smoke, but can still make me cough, the left overs are a golden brown. It has no smokey taste, sometimes the gun is accidentially turned up and it comes out very smokey, and the left overs are dark reddish brown. I keep the dial of my sears gun between 5 and 6, usually closer to 5, 5.25 maybe. I get about 3 good hits from each bowl too, which is pretty much the same amount as I loaded for a personal bong hit which gives 2 or three hits before being dusted. Only the three vaporizer hits seem to get me higher. From my observations vaporizing delivers a higher percentage of the active chemicals from a sample than does smoking. This also fits with the research on vaporizers that has been done. One difference may be that I use a very small amount of water in the bong while vriping. When I take my hit, I usually tilt the bong so the vapor doesn't pass through the water, and then when I carb it I tilt it so the water bubbles. It seems to give a bit bigger hits that way.
