I think that creating this forum is a very noble and responsible move by those at CC. I believe that there are a many member on these boards that need a place where they can find solace, love and support. The community at CC is by far on most part full of very caring and like minded people. With an objective of supporting each other one way or another. I hope to be able to come to this thread to find the much needed support. I also believe that we will be able to overcome our weaknesses. We will be strong. Side by side. We are a real family hear on these boards.
Thank you all.

ah yes this is a very thoughtful idea that will help many overcome their addictions. As i for one have battled a few addictions and marijuana helped with the ovewhelming feeling of destruction and control.Marijuana can help you overcome that overpowering adiction and feeling of hopelesness.
There is many forms of adiction like food, sex, shopping, money, fire and of corse drugs like heroin cocaine, alchool, caffeine, meth ,opium, tobacco and many pharma drugs like oxycontin and morphin.
Love and kindness of understanding the core of the problem will be the answers to the depth of these problems.

Awesome move on CC's part here. Far too many legalization advocates ignore the problems that are related to drug use. It's refreshing to see a chance for people with addictions & dependencies to come forward - whether it be related to marijuana misuse or other substances.

I agree 100%...this is an excellent idea for people that are not strictly weed smokers. Yrs ago, I had a major problem with drinking...basically on a 25 yr binge. I would gag every morning & pass-out every night...EVERY night. Was really affecting my whole life extremely negatively. Woke up 1 morning & didn't get myself a beer...1st time in ???? [total blur].
Anyway, I was just feeling too shitty 24/7 now. Hangovers were an all-day occurrence. Drink a 6, still felt like garbage...& that's when I just thought "Forget this nonsense" & poured the rest of the can down the sink. Asked my wife if she'd dump the 8 cans in the fridge. **I'd literally count my beers every morning to see if I needed to make a run before starting getting hammered.**
After about a week, my stomach was unqueasing itself & I felt 80% back to normal. Finally about a month & I was back 100% feeling 'unqueased' every morning. Each morning I was so glad not to feel shitty, I didn't want to drink that day. This just rolled on & on & it's been 7 & a 1/2 yrs since I've had a drink.
Weed really is beneficial to alcoholics because we still like some kinda buzz & weed is so easy on your system, I have never had a 'weed hangover', as some claimed to have.
And to allow people 21+ to purchase alcohol, but nobody nowhere can purchase weed legally [with few exceptions], makes no sense to this ex-lush.

Anyhow, yeah Marc, this was a great idea to have this new forum for peeps like me who've had their share of addictions or dependencies...The End.

hey zoltron....those reasons are what made me quit all the cheemical abuse...so tired of waking up feeling shitty (and tired of those big bills that come with cocaine!)

for some people it is an 'awakening' in ourselves that can give us the ability to want to change and be better...

and this new forum will be a great support for those who need it!!!

thanks Marc!

Most of us can relate to a feeling that we’d got out of hand at some point with mind altering substances, usually something other than cannabis, but even our favorite plant can be overused or misused. I’ve found, now that I’ve stopped taking any substances other than pot, that I have less of a want for any others. Pot was brandished the “gate way drug.” For me it’s the “gate-locking herb.” It seems to put a locked gate between me and drug use.

What a great new forum Marc. This will help a lot of people. Thanks.

CaliGrower, I am the same way. No more hard drugs (especially cocaine) now that I've become a heavy marijuana user.
