Your sermon is not lost on me brother Chris... I've always known that pot makes you horny... but I never realized there was so much to it, and that the sacred herb is so intertwined with man's genetics. Truly fascinating... thankyou for enlightening me on this topic.

By the way 3blindmice,why do you feel the need to call michelle kubby a liar? doubting what she says about her husbands health, are you a health care professional?you probably smoke to much to be one, according to your beliefs, pot smokers are the only ones buying up playstation2 and renting movies to vegout on,dude everyone does'nt use pot to become a dope,an example of someone who was successful at not only smoking more than a 1/2 oz. of sacrement a day,but who also traveled the world spreading the message ganja had givin him,he spent enormous amounts of time in the "office" writing and devolping the message he had recieved thru devine intervention while on cannabis,he was a ghetto child, who's experiences were different from those who smoked uptown, the people who smoked uptown, were not the ones who traveled the world teachin peace and love...............................does that mean that the uptownies had a better experience than the ghetto child,
if you ever see him you can ask, bob marley

I learned that I gave some misinformation. The discovery that THC does not have an unique binding site was made in 1993. So far, a couple of chemicals endogenous to the body, including anandamide, have been discovered.

Hey brother 3blind, and Hail to you brother Chris; I'm touching base on this thread again. I've been a little busy the past couple of days taking care of chores around the house and whatnot. The thought crossed my mind that this would be a great topic at a coffeehouse in Vancouver or some such. I visited the area some years ago and really enjoyed it, wonderful place; it was really fun riding the ferry from Vancouver on the way to Victoria. I've been wanting to go back and have been thinking about the possibility of retirement in the area.
Anyway, back to the thread. I wanted to thank you 3blind for expressing your concern about me (your response to me earlier) if you thought I was too stoned, etc.; you seem to be a caring person. And along that line of thought, you mentioned "healthy stoner"; I think this is an important concept; it says to me that we definitely can be healthy and enjoy ganja both at the same time. I believe there is a synergism between ganja and one's physical and mental health. In my own experience with marijuana when I'm in good physical condition the marijuana experience seems to be much better. So for me the herb kind of acts as a stimulus for me to strive to keep my physical body in as good a condition as I can. It may just be me because I like to run and work out regularly in the gym anyway, but still I think the herb will "talk" to you and if you listen will move you toward physical and mental improvement. Oh well, that is just my two cents. I still think it would be great if we were in the kind of environment where we could all meet at the village cafe and talk about these things over a cup of java or a bhang lassi or whatever you prefer ..... maybe some day soon; I'm looking forward to it.
On another note, when the discussion mentioned sadhus, etc. I took a little peek on the web and found an interesting site, complete with pictures, check this one out; it is quite interesting: Sadhus, Holy Men of India http://utopia.knoware.nl/users/dolfhart/ To quote the site: "To them Shiva is not only the Lord of Yogis, but also the Lord of Hash, the hash smoking god, forever High." Interesting concept, "forever High" And why not? If in the end, after this life, we attain some state of perfection, why not attain the forever High? I don't want to get too deep into meta physics, religio-philosopy, etc., but I do agree with Chris in that we really do not know much beyond the here and now, and this notion of soul while certainly appealing is speculative, where is it, what is it, does it even exit? For that matter, how many among us have really had any real proof or scintilla of evidence that the western God exits? The point I suppose I'm converging on is that we all want to know answers to basic questions, and that on our journey through this life there are entheogenic plants all around us (Cannabis Sativa being only one) that when used properly can help us in our quest, as well as in our day to day lives. They are not necessarily meant for everyone, but they are there, they have a purpose and a use; some of us benefit from them. We are certainly not all the same, and we do not share the same beliefs, but the ancient plants can help us to bridge the gulf between ourselves, where we have been, and where we are going. Unfortunately, as we know, there are many among us who continually and aggressively seek to yoke us to the harness of oppression for a multiplicity of reasons not the least being greed and the illusion of power. Our would be oppressors (and I include most of the politicians of the past 40+ years) truly fear the ancient entheogenic plants. I believe that they sense that they would lose their death grip on the minds and lives of the citizens if the ancient plants were made openly available to the masses. Horror of horrors, sales of burgers, tv's, SUV's, etc. might plummet, and the grinding engines of progress may slow if the captive, brain scrubbed workers were allowed to partake of anything other than the state approved sacraments of alcohol and tobacco.
But I digress. My but we have wandered a bit from the initial subject of this thread. Back to you.

I agree with you wholeheartedly... I only hope that the new millenium brings a loosening of this death-grip on the soul of man.

Like you say, there is a lot we can learn using psychedelics and other natural drugs. Our job is to articulate and share our experiences and come together. If ingesting plants can help us to see where we have been and where we are going, then certainly we are more than the here and now. Science can't explain things completely. There is no sound account of the universe yet in scientific terms. Evolutionary theory cannot account for humans. There is much much more than the here an now. And I'm not al all referring to heaven and hell, or the Christian soul. When we feel things there is no cause or effect relationship that can explain them. When we encounter each other, why do we suddenly recognize each other as people? Is it because the light coming off his or her faces travels though the eye and into the brain and causes you to realize that there's a person there? Yes, but that's not the whole story. They thought we'd be living on the moon by now. Where the hell is the moon?

Threeblindmice, In relation to your querry, can a marathon runner smoke a joint a day. Yes,there have been numerous worldclass athletes, even world champions, who smoke the herb regularly, in Boxing, Skiing, Surfing, Snowboarding, Fereeclimbing, Skatebording, Basketball, Baseball, etc.. Seems, from your latest comments that we are finding some common ground though. Exactly which part of my earlier commentary on our realtionship with cannabis, did you find so airy fairy? (Although martians and crystals aren't really in my baggie, I don't find them any less believable than the concept of the soul). Cheers, its been a fun exchange!
