Any plants that do not meet breeding requirements for any reason are culled from the grow area because, they are no longer needed and only take up space! If those genetics happen to be female on the flowering and sexing shelve just finish her out for the bud to smoke! I hope this has answered all your questions. It takes thought and planning beginning a breeding program, and not just letting a male flower and pollinate some females!

Yes, I too keep mostly bonsai males. They take up less space that way and I enjoy the art of bonsai anyway.

Hey Master Grower ...ummm as a matter of good Ettiquitte (sp?) where you have many separate posts in a row, in a thread that is not yours... U C ? Just a heads up mang, better to just do one post if ya can so 2mjbroski can figure out his stuffz. I faux pas decorum all the time I am sure, LoL, but just a word to ya no biggie.

There is always more than one way to accomplish something. I usually, only describe one as an example. Too give help and guidence to people in the need. Don't take my examples as the only way to do something. It would take to much time to explain multiple ways and people are mostly wanting information fast. So, I give only one example unless asked for more than one. I hope this has helped.

Thx for the input guys.
MG,
Once you put a post up and then decide you want to add something or forgot to say something....go to that post and click the "Edit" icon....and do your update and then click
"Continue" Unless you uncheck the "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file" box you will have to click continue twice.

RT,
I've been wanting to grow those Thai hybirds out for awhile now. Something else always seems to come up. I'll probably do some of them next with some Dalat. The PR X Haze was nice looking also...I don't have a picture of it but here is the Lemon Thai x Purple Haze x OH.Pic is by the breeder not me.
I don't have a pic. of the Thai X Haze cross.

Whew, I be a baked typin' fool

I like it when you ramble baked...usually some good chit falls out of your head.

My lights are 1 grow old...am replacing them as soon as I can afford it....I can't swing a light mover right now. I have to do it the old fashion way right now....I rotate the plants a lot. The last 18" or so on each end doesn't get a good footprint.
Am going to replace the MH with a High Color Rendering (Daylight)EYE CLEAN ARCTM. It has more reds and blues than either a MH or HPS and replace the HPS with the Sylvania Growlux...it seems to have a better spectrum than the SunArgo, more lumens and it's cheaper.

and ya know, I bet this big ol' phat boy Cherry Bomb male (index 02) would rock as an outcross, KILLER MALE truly extraordinary in LOTS O ways!

So lets hit this Trainwreck with it then.

Hold your flowering time concerns for last, bring in a Burmese, or a Killer Haze, and ya won't need many offspring for the F1s, mebbe 30, then you want to select best fems (2 mebbe) and best males (2 mebbe) and THEN you want to incross these and make a lot of beans, cuz in your F2s is where you will find your target "types" to breed further - try and keep at least two lineages seperate but close, so at like f5 or whatever you can restore some vigor via the mild hybrid inducement crossing the separate lines ` but still close enough to retain the truebreeding traits you like expressed

Ok here is what I think am going to do...do the current grow as planed...keep any good moms in Bonsai and males if I get any....put the beans aside from this grow(send a few to peeps)and on the next grow do all my Thai hybirds and my Dalat...keep any good moms and dads from that grow in bonsai and do a sex reversel on the Dalat with STS because I doubt I will get a male. Make crosses from this grow and grow #1
That should give me a big gene pool to start working with.

Then start growing out the crosses from grow 1 & 2 and start looking for what worked.....ie good moms and dads. Strong branching, good yields and up happy potent highs.

And for right now am getting my "MJ Botany" book back out and read it cover to cover again....I haven't read it in 30 years or so.

See ya in 3-5 years with something good.

Aren't you going to run any of your trainwrecks mang?

Ya know I have a very nice lookin' Dalat male in a greenhouse, and I dunno how he breeds (yet) but prolly worthy at least I also have a NICE VBlack male that I KNOW is a good breeder male...You need to make sure you have room to do what you need to do LoL, otherwise your quality and testing will suffer mang! If you are in doubt just axe a part of your line-up; ya pretty much GOTTA have 3 zones grow/bloom - clones - male(s) flowering - and that's very basic LoL, so be as setup as you can get goin' into it and you won't be all runnin' around trying to make due when you suddenly NEED some space
