Skellington, I'll bet it's great! Almost as much snow as in '97, eh? I missed that one too!

Flash,

He's not even an old lady!
and says:
That he fell on the sidewalk,
slipped on black ice and fell.

Making grunts that sounded like a kung fu fighter.
But rolled safely to a Bruce Lee landing
last night going home from my house.

That's what Flash says ...

Here's one from just moments ago,
the sun is out,
the snow is melting.

me and two buds are coming up to vancouver in july...staying in kistsilano. i've been to vancouver a couple times, but it's been a while. i was wondering who could give me some easy info on the public transportation; i've looked at theit site, but maybe you can explain it better. we basically just need to know how to get from kitsilano to hastings, and kitsilano to granville island. the rest, i think i can figure out once we're downtown and i refamiliarize myself. any other info, especially on your favorite CHEAP (pizza, etc.) places to grab a bite, let me know. thanks so much.

lots of buses cruise down 4th avenue on their way downtown...the number 7 (nainaimo station) will take you down granville and along pender street and it retraces the route to go back through kits along 4th ave

here's a bus schedule planning site:

Here's a map that shows the relation between the downtown core and surrounding area.

It's very easy to get downtown from Kits - you can even walk, taking Burrard Bridge in about 30 minutes.

thanks for the details. so, to get to granville, take the #7...but to get to w hastings, is the only stop for the #7 at e.hastings? if so, should i just find another way to get to w.hastings or get dropped off in e.hastings? either way, thanks for the already given help.

i think the #7 runs along pender street which is parallel and one block south of west hastings...the #7 runs all the way over to commercial drive too which is well worth a visit just to see the melting point store where they'll let you try their volcano vapourizer if you bring your own buds...check out their selection of extremely fine glass...i could spend all day on commercial drive and never get bored because there are so many interesting stores and restaurants

does anyone know the name of a store on commercial that sells hemp clothes? my neighbourhood hemp store shut down.

Here's a great link to a PDF file with the transit routes highlighted.

Here's more of downtown and the surrounding area.

Here's a map I made up. The BCMP is right downtown, nestled between the financial district and historic Gastown - West Hastings is all good, East Hastings is out of the downtown core.

As for food (and a place to score bud), the Cambie right around the corner is a perfect place for cheap drinks and eats.
