Regarding skating in Vancouver:
They just opened a brand new $250,000 skate park somewhere downtown. Not too sure where, I'd post a link but got to work..

later

Don't know what it's called or where a link can be found,

but it's full all day long,
quite the hit with the kids apparently...

and right under the Georgia Viaduct and Sky Train rails,
find Stadium Station, take the eastern exit
(down the stairs, along sidewalk for about 3 blocks)
and you are so there.

you won't feel bad about leaving vancouver when you come back here and get stuck in traffic and have to pay $5 for a cup of coffee and eat north america's shittiest pizza and everything costs $$$ and people are so unfriendly and it takes forever to do anything because everyone is hepped up on coffee but nobody gets anything done and its going to get worse as we approach the olympics

i love it here

AMEN!

Hi, new to the forums here, great to get started!

I'm going to be traveling to Vancouver for the first time.

I haven't been in a 'green friendly' city since I was in Europe in 2001. I don't partake in use of my favorite plants in the States, due in large part to fear, but also because I feel it is important to not sit back and enjoy the fruits without doing something to help the cause, which I have unfortunately been slacking on.

So, up to Vancouver I go.(I also have a seminar I'm attending too )

So, I gather I head up to the pot block. And what I'm wondering is this: will the process of acquisition be as simple as walking around, wait to get aproached, check it out, make the decision to obtain, then off on my merry way? are there risks involved?

then, where can i go to consume. And after consumption, if I start to feel a little too much of the effects, what can I do to just chill out(it's been a long time) Maybe certain foods? Go take a nap?

I am planning on stopping at the Party book shop and making a donation at Carol's cafe.

Anything else?

THANKS!!

yep its just that easy...the pot dealers are liberally sprinkled along hastings and granville closest to the green zone...the vancouver police don't arrest people for simple possession so the biggest risk to you is having to dump your pot in the gutter

after you buy cannabis from your friendly neighbourhood sidewalk capitalist, you can smoke in the BC marijuana party headquarters or the new amsterdam cafe...you might also like to purchase something from serious seeds or emeryseeds

be sure to visit commercial drive...besides da kine (which is not open at the moment), drop in at the melting point to see their amazing glass selection and state of the art vapourizers

puff pipes has a small but extremely well stocked store at the corner of granville and robson street downtown (upstairs)

you can take the #7 bus (dunbar) to kitsalano hempco on 4th ave between macdonald and bayswater streets (south side of the street)...you can't smoke there but they have a nice selection of hemp clothes, pipes, etc

if you want to experience something truly wonderful, take the bus to UBC and find the path to wreck beach...walk down the steep path, stop at the bottom, take off all your clothes, and step into a wormhole to the 60's!

read the whole thread from the very beginning and you'll have enough ideas to fill the whole trip three times over

if the weather is nice, rent the boat and cruise around indian arm...if you're travelling with a lover/spouse, a romantic harbour cruise with dinner would be fun as well
