need I say it?

Peat.

Yes you need to say it. I love peat, comprises 40% of my mix. Convince the folks at Promix that it's no good! Same with fish emulsion, always using early in veg to fend off low N before repotting for flowering. Problems people have with peat and emulsion is like any other products, usually user error.

there is NO better source of Nitrogen ,than RAIN water

Is that true?? Can anyone back up that claim?

Let me draw you a picture.

Not to mention the NOx that coal burning energy plants are putting in the air.

But you don’t have to rely on rain, some places put it in their water.

Eutrophication is one way to feed your plants

Is there a reason beyond the destruction of irreplacable habitat that the harvesting of peat causes? That's the reason I don't much like it. Other than that it's a great medium. I want to try to use the coco bricks as a main medium this year but they don't produce near the volume that the package promises. I boycott companies that lie to me.

hey thanks for the correction-
As it stands you are right on about the Atlantic Salmon.
Forgive me, maybe it was just the color of the fish that made me blind to possibility that it was indeed at one point really alive.

However, there is no one by the name Virginia at this locale.Surely you can't mean me?
So lets call it a draw.I will now smoke two for me and you both(4). Let's talk shit here, not dirt.

It is my understanding that the heavy metals in fish/fish emulsion are passed on to the end user/smoker? Is this true?

Might as well be puffing some crack or making foil pipes! I have heard of bioremediation but that's is a hell of a way to go about it.

Because it breaks down too fast and becomes acidic.

And personally I find it dries too fast to be a good medium.

Well which has more heavy metal, a bottle of fish emulsions or a can of tuna fish?

Speaking of tuna fish, can I uses the juice (water) that comes in a can, to feed my plants?
How about the tuna?

In your opinion. I only buy it already ph adjusted with lime. Never have had any ph issues and I dont even have a pen. It does dry out fast on it's own but mixed with good compost it works great. I love the stuff and the only thing I see bad about it is it's a non replenishable resource. Other than that I love the shit, $4 a bag and last me 2 grows. Next grow I will be trying the mushroom compost instead of the cow manure compost. I'll let everyone know the results.
