If you are a Pink Floyd fan respond to this thread. Only a stoner has truly 'experienced' the Floyd. A couple of suggestions. First, listen to them on vynl. I'm only 24, but you can still find them. Second, musical perception is better if you block out distractions. Listen to it in the darkness.
Here are my favorites:

Dark Side:

On the run - listen to this high. My body literally thrust off the chair to the beat. I was sweaty and out off breath by the end.

Time - the begginning is so trippy. I always get visuals.

Great gig in the sky - there is a point in the song where I mistake the woman screaming for a baby's cry. It sometimes makes me cry.

Meddle:

One of these day's: I get visuals. I feel like I'm flying through a giant tunnel towards 'The doors'.

Echoes: An absolute masterpiece. I always get visuals of things exploding. This was my first Floyd album. I was high on hash at the time. At about 18 minutes, right before the last vocals, I thought I was air guitaring with angels.

Wish you were here:

Shine on you crazy diamond: listen to this at night under the stars. There are four chords in the first song that are beautiful. Right after this the drums come on and it makes me feel like I've just jumped off a cliff.

Obscured by clouds:

Mudmen - You don't even need drugs to feel high on this. The guitar takes me to another planet.

The Wall:

I won't go into too much detail here, but my favorites are hey you, anybody out there, and comfortably numb.

Any other Floyd fans?

Respond.
Blaze

i love pink floyd!!! they're up there in favorites with the Grateful Dead. pink rocks!!! i'm listening to ATOM HEART MOTHER right now. and yes i have "experienced" the floyd......about a month ago i ate some mushrooms and thought it would be cool to listen to some pink floyd. so i put on SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS and PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN. oh my god! it was a full fledged "feeling" of the Floyd. i really reccomend listening to their old school stuff when Syd Barret was in. really amazing stuff.

peace

Yeah, I completely forgot about Syd Barret Floyd. Interstellar Overdrive is over the top. I can't even imagine listening to that on acid. That part where the sounds quickly switch sides of the headphones would be sure to scramble the brain.

fucking right dude! interstellar overdrive is simply amazing. i've listened to it high as fuck on acid and let me tell you, it blows you into another world. but yeah i love when it flows into the same medley as before with the rapid sound shifts...so great

they do sound just like em, and they even brought in the original woman who did the background on dark side and they played in sinced to wizard of oz
i wish i could see the real floyd but i guess that will never happen. i actually dont go to machine shows anymore cuz when they got popular they decided it was time to play there own music, nope bad bad idea.
