Hey diceman!! just one ? Is there a way to extract Psilocin from the used cakes. It seems a waste to just trash em . Ive used em to innoculate pastuerized straw in zip locs and it worked good !!! I know ya cant eat the cakes due to high levels of selenium. So do you know how or got any links to extraction? Thanks burnie

I regularly use the cakes. Simply dry the cakes completely, and then crumble them to the consistency of kitty litter (which it really looks like). The I soak 2-3 cakes worth, in cranberry or grape juice (several cups) for 1-2 hours. Filter off using a cloth or strainer. Repeat extraction with juice.

Filter liquid through a cloth to remove chunks. Drink (1-2 cakes worth per person).

It tastes like shit ... but it really gets you high.

i'm down with both sides of the arguement, have done more than one type of shrooms in the past, and some shipped here from cali years back were not good at all for several people, not really a "bad" trip, but damn sure not fun, made you feel yucky and depressed and weird. tried them once more, at the beach on a bright beautiful sunny day, thinking my mood wasn't good for tripping the time before, did same thing. would like to know what species they were, so as to stay away from them! definitely not cubensis- those are quite pleasant unless you go overboard with them.

I've got my first jar going right now, so I need info soon. Question:
How will I know when the cake is fully colonized without a saccrinometer (spelling?)? If it looks all white on the sides and bottom, is it likely to be ready through the middle too?

And how careful must I be moving from the jar to the pop bottle? I couldn't find wide mouth jars, the one I"m usinghas the same width mouth as the rest of the jar. Will it shrink enough to get it out and into the terrarium without touching it?

Hate to bust a claim for fame; But there's a great site that been around for awhile it's HTTP://Shroomery.org (Note the missing www).
As methods go P.F is great for starting for about 40-50 bucks you can come up with an z or more, but there is better ways. Like all things got to pay your dues before these will be any good for you. It's a great hobby ;), been at it for awhile..And it is easy as hell once you pay your dues and learn what works and what don't.
