This should be a good forum Dana. Anyone who has tripped should have something to say. I used lsd (among other things) many times during the eighties.

I was wondering about lsd reports from the 60's and 70's. I can recall reading about people climbing on buildings and acting like they can fly etc.

In the 50 or so trips I've had I never had any loss of control over my actions. A few hallucinations yes, but never anything that could put my life in danger.

Were these reports for real? Were they taking higher doses? Or were these trippers insane to begin with?

In 1984, some of my friends knew a guy who went to Sutherland Secondary School in North Vancouver who jumped out of the Vancouver Hotel to his death. Reportedly he was on LSD and claimed that he could fly.
I think that if a person is has serious emotional or mental problems that they can easily be pushed into temporary insanity by the drug. I know that in my own personal experiences that if a trip isn't planned correctly (ie, if your about to fall asleep after a long day, and you take LSD instead, your going to wish that you could fall asleep, but you can't. It can feel like hell, literally.)

I knew this guy who ripped these other guys off. He thought they hadn't worked it out and whent over to their place. They gave him a fat freddie, forced him to take another then locked him in closet for 48hrs. Now he's fucking mental.

Thats pretty hard out. Someone takes your buds so you take their mind.

being and older stoner (over 50) i could tell you some stories, in 70 i did STP well after 3 days of peaking about every 4 hours i was ready to quit all drugs, but that feeling only lasted a week. 3 week ends ago my 2 nephews and i each did 3 grams of home grown shrooms and watched Yellow Subermarine, not something i would want to do too often ,but it was fun. peace mota20

The drug most likely that will make people think they can fly is DMT, LSD is not that powerful.

DMT won't make you think you can fly. My experience is that it is a powerful, overwhelming hallucinogen, but it doesn't make you want to go anywhere or do anything but watch what's going on behind your eyes for the 15 or so minutes it's affects last.

It is short acting, but very powerful. One toke and you're literally in another world.
