Remember that as you progress down the thread from the beginning, the examples actually get easier to "see"; IMO.
The Recurrent Backcross is probably one of the easiest to understand, and will really give great results everytime! Excellent for modifying strains, re-vigoring them, dissecting traits from, yada yada. I would do that as a first attempt, and collect any great recombinations along the way to mess with next. Then you should be well on your way!
When I first started to breed, I remember having this tacklebox full of all these ??? x ??? ...LoL...You name it, I had it crossed. But I was short sighted, never really saw past F2, and had no clue about the "dynamics" of recombining genepools. Once you begin to get the hang of it.....You'll be hooked my friends. Do it well, the world is going to be in need of some excellent breeders soon....Especially US I would venture to say really soon! Heh heh
