In response to Josh4mapinc, buying High Times punishes you, not me.

These ex-pat Americans have had lots of money from me, maybe $40,000 in donations before this recent debacle that was brought on more by exhibitionism than by good activism. This latest bit has cost me $25,000 more in one week! That money would have gone to other activists or jailed victims, since all my money is given away, and there is always a waiting list of worthy receipiants. These ex-patriates got themselves in trouble by doing US media articles and broadcasts (FOX TV news) announcing that the Sunshine Coast was a safe haven for Americans on the run from California law. What a surprise California Attorney General immediately was prompted to demand their extradition! Yikes. So now their arrogance (it was all unnecessary) has cost $25,000 and perhaps their long term freedom, although they got a very good lawyer in all that money who has been amazing up to now.

Since my money comes with some important strings attached, they get lectured on childish, hedonistic behaviour when it has a detrimental impact on others and themselves, and incurs poor use of valuable resources. They were scolded and then sent home healthy and in one piece, after I rescued them, so believe me, they are happy for the scolding. We will get Ken Hayes out on Monday and he will be told the same.

This line is patently false:
" Bottom line, if you're going to pony up the $$$, quit your bitching. If bailing out a couple of dying men is such a pain in your ass, then don't do it."

Actually, as you will learn, if you pony up the $$$ , you get to do ALL the bitchin', those getting the money, they shut up or else. Let's hope you don't learn the hard way.

Marc

Dear Friends,

We didn't get home until around midnight last night and we have just
returned from seeing Steve's doctor on the Sunshine Coast, so this is my
first chance to update you since his release. Although Steve's health was
seriously compromised during this whole episode, we were thankful to learn
that no permanent damage has been done.

I know a lot of you are angry and would like to hold someone or something
responsible, let me tell you who we believe is at the root of all of these
problems. It will probably shock you, because it is not the US government
or DEA, nor is it solely the Canadian government. It is Placer County, who
is refusing to allow Steve the protection afforded by the passage of Prop.
36, which mandates treatment, not jail.

In both Steve's hearings, the Canadian prosecutors presented evidence that
was so incriminating that both judges actually told Steve's attorney that,
after just hearing the government's case, they were not about to allow Steve
to be released. However, when the facts of the case were explained to the
courts, we could see that the judges and even the prosecutors were stunned
and amazed by Steve's story. The fraudulent information provided by Placer
County was exposed and the Canadian prosecutors weren't happy about it. The
Placer County District Attorney overplayed his hand and blew his credibility
as a result.

This is the second time that the Placer County DA's office has threatened my
husband's life. My husband was in a Canadian jail for four days, one day
longer than Placer incarcerated us for. Dr. DeQuattro, who has since passed
away but was the world authority on Steve's disease, said that if he had
gone that fourth day, he would have died. He almost did die this time.

We were extremely lucky this time. Canadian jails take medical conditions
seriously. Steve regularly had his blood pressure checked. By the fourth
day Steve's blood pressure had rocketed to 170/110, causing him such severe
vomiting and diarrhea that he lost 20 pounds. Unlike Placer County,
Canadian authorities were concerned and did their best to make Steve
comfortable.

If you'd like to voice your concerns, we suggest you begin by writing the
Placer County Board of Supervisors:

Your letter to the Auburn Journal and Sacramento Bee would also be helpful
in protecting Steve from any further such attacks upon my husband's life by
Placer D.A., Bradford Fenocchio.

The Auburn Journal has just published a story about Steve, so your letter is
likely to be published. You can read the Auburn Journal story at:

Canadian national television, S.F. stations and the Associated Press have
also filed articles.

Let freedom grow,

Michele

P.S. Sechelt RCMP just called Steve Tuck and informed him, he would not be
bothered by the RCMP again. How nice to live in a civilized country!

"In response to Josh4mapinc, buying High Times punishes you, not me."

What are you talking about? They sell such great products... (given the rather nasty vibe in this thread I feel obligated to add a hearty KIDDING)

"Since my money comes with some important strings attached, they get lectured on childish, hedonistic behaviour when it has a detrimental impact on others and themselves, and incurs poor use of valuable resources. "

That's fine, Marc. But why are you doing so in this forum, in front of people not privy to neither their actions nor your attached strings? We, as in most of us on this forum, were only aware that you were saving others from a McWilliams-like fate. We had no idea what your post was in reference to (Hedonsitic behavior? Sounds juicy, but it's none of my business). It seemed entirely out of nowhere.

Look, I obviously don't know what the hell is going on. But I do know that no one is questioning your philanthropy, or your right to bitch. It's that your post was confusing and seemed uncharacteristic of what we (I) would expect from you with what little we (I) knew about the situation.

Am I making sense?

I'm glad to hear that the Steves are alright, and thank you Marc for making that happen.

A few things, Marc:

1) All Tuck did was make a generalized plea for help for Kubby when he got home and realized Kubby was still in jail. In fact, as I said earlier, I know Richard Cowan had offered his financial help, and I also know that your assistant (Michelle?) had to insist to Lucy TWICE on the phone that they take your assistance.

2) I have a copy of the the Coast Reporter...the paper that ran the story about Fox News LOOKING for a story. In it, Kubby and Tuck are confused with each other, and one of YOUR emloyees made some of the most inflamatory statements of all....like stating that we are here for cheaper medical care, and lower cost of living. Not only is she WRONG, all she did was add to the trouble we have living here. She claimed to have "Americans contacting her every day" about moving to the coast.

3) Steve Tuck spent the two weeks leading up to his arrest AVOIDING the Fox News reporter, knowing that not all publicity is good publicity.

4) So, are you basically saying that for YOU to hit the bong on TV, or give an interview while on the balcony of your place in Vancouver, is somehow NOT inflammatory, while Tuck telling the truth on CBC about growing med pot IS?

I am puzzled.

Love,

Skink

Those are good points. Don't you think, though, that your "scolding" was better suited for a "private" message rather than in the "public" forum considering that the readers were unaware of these details and you scolded others that weren't party to the post you were responding to?

Again I'll say that this isn't an issue of what someone "Can" do but rather what "should" be done.

Thanks for all you have done. I'm more than sure everyone involved appreciates it.

It's ironic; Steve Tuck deleted his post when Marc Emery should have deleted his instead. There is no excuse for such language.

The chosen one, the Prince of Pot, disgraces himself and his legacy by referring to his close associates and employees at his Pot TV Internetwork as "media-sucking idiots". His profane choice of words and grotesque readiness to list sums of money to justify boorish conduct leave no doubt who is really "giving arrogance and ingratitude new meaning".

Mr. Emery is privileged to have the talent, vision, and opportunity to be able to help his fellow men while enjoying success and popularity. Demonizing his beneficiaries cheapens his real efforts and accomplishments.

Two things are clear. Media-sucker "shut-the-fuck-up" Tuck knows who's buttering his bread. And people like REALMAN and SkinkTyree aren't afraid to say what Tuck is probably thinking. Emery can't afford to pay everyone to lick his boot.

To people not busy counting his largesse, Emery's outbursts are rightly disturbing. Straddling the legal divide requires care. With the special risks of his business, Emery's stock price depends very much on his brand name. Public perceptions shape the political environment of his illegal seed business.

The day he is no longer seen as a quixotic social activist but as a corrupt opportunist who uses money to control people and work the system will be a very sad day for Mr. Emery and those who love his freedom.

Mexico has begun extraditing their "Drug Kingpins" to Mr. Emery's beloved 'Nazi States of America'. Is Canada next?
