Apart for the Mother Nature bit (it is an abstract concept) I agree with him. You see when you take my road. It takes so much longer than any other road. It is so hard to follow and understand the complexity o f everything around you (your brain is not even a speck in comparison to the universe's size). But when you have travelled long enough along this road (for we as a race are a long way from completing it) then you end up with a logical and reasoned notion that it is your environment that matters and the other monkeys in it that matters. Not some imaginary God or what happens to you when you die. It is ironic that atheists have a purer (damn.... that’s the wrong word) notion of what morality is. Mainly I suppose because our ways makes almost no assumptions and is based on truth

i was just using mother earth as a synonym for 'the earth' , with a stoney embellishment thrown in for good measure. the idea of the planet being our collective mother doesnt seem too abstract to me, but hell i'm sleepy, what do i know?

I personally do not belive in god, but do consider myself spiritual. Websters offers the definition of a god to be an idol.....So i suppose that make a lot of gods in the literal sense.

Your own belief is your own judjement. I perdsonaly believ there is a holy father. A man wgo created man, women, air, sun, moon, foreset and verythign else living. We are concieted by are egos and do not wnat to worship anything higher than are selves well sometimes we must froget the egos that drive us and believ in something wonderful. When I am in such beuty sitting smoking the Gods green herb Oh I admire all he has doen to make the world so beutiful, I can not tell you what great emotions I go through thinking that this is ours but yet the corrupt evil minded politician have mad the scen ugly. People did it is part of life, but when has man ever been alble to stick as one? NEver. The same Concieted political attitudes that put Jesus Chrost the saviour on the croos is the same as what is driving the seprrate nations into a feury over nuculear weapons. We all could be dead any say when a nucke could hit you city. Would u not feel terrible taht ur innocent life would end because of others own selfishness. God does excist I can not prove it but I believe that the word is god is the honest word and the evaloution idead is not right. Blasphemy is what tries to bring the spirt of God down but it only makes it stronger!

“I personally believe there is a holy father. A man who created man, women, air, sun, moon, forest and everything else living.” Even though everything around you doesn’t show any evidence towards that at all. And in-fact shows evidence CONTARY to your beliefs. Yeah…that’s right…the sun DOES rotate around the earth LOL.
“We are conceited by are egos and do not want to worship anything higher than are selves.”
Err...Maybe some people are like that. But then again you are so arrogant you can’t even accept that you are a relative of a monkey. There really isn’t any evidence for some greater power.
“Well sometimes we must forget the egos that drive us and believe in something wonderful.” Yep…it would be nice to think that we were just made by some imaginary friend. But the truly wonderful thing is how rare life is in the universe.
“When I am in such beauty sitting smoking the Gods green herb.” God didn’t make MJ. It evolved into the most sophisticated plant I know of.
“Oh I admire all he has done to make the world so beautiful.” ‘He’ hasn’t done anything….God doesn’t exist. I find the idea that this beautiful world was created makes the beauty seem to be worth less.
“I can not tell you what great emotions I go through thinking that this is ours but yet the corrupt evil minded politician have mad the scene ugly. People did it is part of life, but when has man ever been able to stick as one? Never. The same Conceited political attitudes that put Jesus Christ the saviour on the cross is the same as what is driving the separate nations into a fury over nuclear weapons. We all could be dead any say when a nuke could hit you city. Would you not feel terrible that your innocent life would end because of others own selfishness.”
I can narrow down those ‘great’ emotions to chemicals and feedback with in your brain. Corrupt evil-minded politicians ruin the environment in which we live. And so do corrupt evil priests…and corrupt evil scientists.
“God does exist I cannot prove it but…” Of course you cannot prove it…a non-existent entity cannot be proved or disproved by definition.
“I believe that the word is god is the honest word and the evolution idea is not right.” Then you are the one who is arrogant on a truly profound level
“Blasphemy is what tries to bring the sprit of God down but it only makes it stronger!” I am sure that is what the priests said to the man who explained the world was in orbit around the sun. I am sure that is what the priests said when they put him on house arrest.

I tend to agree with Eintsein. "If God did not create the universe then someone else did."
All but a few individuals will fashion God in their own image.
I have argued for days with a friend who was convinced they were atheist only to find out that she was using a different definition of God, but she had a God!! Even though she realized this she still remained convinced that she was an atheist.
A better question would be. Is your God a powerful personal creator of the universe capable of knowing every thought that passes through your well created(but limited) mind? Or do you believe in a chaotic random careless God described by a big bang type theory of random chance?

“I tend to agree with Einstein. "If God did not create the universe then someone else did."”
Einstein is wrong. Einstein was well behind the times when he died.
“I have argued for days with a friend who was convinced they were atheist only to find out that she was using a different definition of God, but she had a God!! Even though she realized this she still remained convinced that she was an atheist.”
Atheist has not been allowed by the other religions to form a coalition, which is strong enough to spread so that atheism can become a strong logical system. There is obviously something incorrect with the way that she is thinking…I am sure I can iron out any problems.
”A better question would be. Is your God a powerful personal creator of the universe capable of knowing every thought that passes through your well created(but limited) mind?”
What an absurd concept
“Or do you believe in a chaotic random careless God described by a big bang type theory of random chance?”
God of random chance? Eh? Big Bang describes no God.

Hemp Monkey you are really an inflexible guy. I still like you for some reason, you are definatly tenacious, but somewhat inflexible. Your logic is not as sound as you think it is, yet you are never willing to admit there may be more ways to look at a thought than your own. I can tell you are very intelligent, certainly more than I, but that pride in yourself will not help you, and it blocks you from knowing what many of these humble people (who may be less intelligent than you) know. I know you have a good heart and I suspect you have a spiritual drive inside you that your mind keeps labing as irrational. Thats why you keep coming back to this forum to debate with yourself. Otherwise why not just let us primative monkeys believe in our primative monkey gods in peace. I do agree that we are just monkeys, well apes really, according to scientific catagories we would be apes, not monkeys, since we don't have a tail, but anyway we are animals, but we have some things that set us apart, the most of important of which is the ability to be spiritual. God loves you and he wants to be part of your life, let go of the pride and listen to your heart, and let God come in whatever way he chooses and you will be happier for it.

“Hemp Monkey you are really an inflexible guy. I still like you for some reason; you are defiantly tenacious, but somewhat inflexible.”
Hmmmm…
“Your logic is not as sound as you think it is; yet you are never willing to admit there may be more ways to look at a thought than your own.”
Eh? That is not true. I have a lot of respect for some aspects of the bible and other religions too. But I just disagree when they use the word ‘God’.
“I can tell you are very intelligent, certainly more than I, but that pride in yourself will not help you, and it blocks you from knowing what many of these humble people (who may be less intelligent than you) know.”
Intelligence has been wrong before and it will be wrong again. But it is right more often than not (or at least closer to the truth).
“I know you have a good heart and I suspect you have a spiritual drive inside you that your mind keeps labelling as irrational.”
The only part of my mind that I consider irrational is the more primitive things that spur me on to take advantage of my friends and family or even those I don’t know. My Evil Task-Specific side is…not primitive (it is very sophisticated in fact) but it only thinks in the short term and is irrational in comparison to my other sides.
“That’s why you keep coming back to this forum to debate with yourself. Otherwise why not just let us primitive monkeys believe in our primitive monkey gods in peace.”
I keep coming back to this forum for many reasons…but that is not one of them. If someone told me that they believed that the sun rotated round the earth or that bigger objects fall faster if there was no air resistance then I would OWE it to that person to explain and prove that neither of those two statements were correct.
“I do agree that we are just monkeys, well apes really, according to scientific categories we would be apes, not monkeys, since we don't have a tail, but anyway we are animals, but we have some things that set us apart, the most of important of which is the ability to be spiritual.”
Well actually we are technically Primates…but monkey has a better ring to it don’t you think? Lol Oh and spirituality is not a human-only thing. KoKo (I think that was her name) was a Gorilla who was taught human sign language. She showed aspects of what you would call spirituality. This REALLY pissed off the priest LOL!! They called for the destruction of KoKo because she was apparently ‘an abomination to God’…not so funny.
“God loves you and he wants to be part of your life, let go of the pride and listen to your heart, and let God come in whatever way he chooses and you will be happier for it.”
I try very VERY hard to not let pride affect me (hard considering I am only 16). But logic science and reason is what I have decided use to drive me. Not faith.
