It doesn't affect the final product at all. :-)

Holy shit, my house smells!!! I'm not sure which strain it is, but WOW! I'm going out to get the stuff this weekend, I'll let you all know how it works. Thanks for the great post, you'll be helping tons of people. Do you think I could do it on a smaller scale? I have like zero room for a five gallon bucket. Also is the fan a must have? Could I just dump ona with water and those crystals? My closet I'm growing in is small, like 3 x 3 small. THanks guys.

Nope, you need the fan. Its purpose is to draw air into the bucket so the molecules that are causing the stink come into contact with the ONA molecules, which then stops the smell.

I've got all the stuff to make one except for the ONA. I'm still trying to decide if I want to order any since it's not sold locally in my area. My closet is smaller than yours, it's 3.5 x 1.5. I just got a 1 gallon plastic pot and filled the holes on the bottom in. I found a fan small enough to fit the opening of the pot at Wal-Mart it was like $8. They have the soil moist crystals at Wal-Mart too but they only have the small packs. But for the size of the pot you'll probably only need like one pack anyway. I think the crystals expand to like 50 times their size or something.

FYI, I saw at the hydro store that ONA is making their own version of this. It's a little enclosed fan that clips on the top of their gel bucket, so it is much smaller than the 5 gallon Growbaby/4free device. There was no price, and it was too busy to ask. I figured I'd just make my own anyway, but it may be an option for people who don't want to make their own.

Got my 5 gallon bucket, Shultz Moisture Plus Crystals, ONA Concentrate (in the mail), and now I just need a fan! :)

Thanks a lot for this thread, i can't wait to see how it performs :)

One question, could one of these machines handle the smell of 5 full flowering females or do you think I'll need to build another when the time comes? My plants are still in veg and are already reaking a little, can't even imagine how much they'll reak when flowering is in full force. Thanks again gb!

btw...we live somewhat near each other gb! We should meet up and blaze massive amounts of the good herb, but that'll have to wait at least 2 1/2 months, so I can match with my own homegrown :)

Thanks again for the thread

Thanks Growbaby and 4Free, this is personally one of the most helpful posts I have seen. I have one question. I've read that extreme odor neutralizing in the grow room can effect the final aroma of the buds. What are your thoughts on this? The example I'm referring to had to do with several ionizers in a room that were supposed to be so effective that the final product had no odor at all. It sounds like bullshit but I wanted to know if anyone else ran across this scenario. Thanks

It IS bullshit, RangerRick. You can't actually penetrate the surface of the plant with ONA. :-)

You'll be fine. :-)

Also, Drdank, one bucket should be fine with your grow, but they work so well, you'll wanna put them everywhere you got stinky problems. I even have a friend that keeps one in his garage where his trashcans are.

My buds are always very tasty, infact taste, armoma, and bouqet are the most important attributes I look for in my buds - ONA doesn't signifigantly reduce aroma or flavour of the bud itself. Peace.
