"It's a bit of an intimidation tactic," says Cullen. "All along, if you've been opposed or raised concerns about this pipeline, Mr. Harper's government has called you a radical or an enemy of the state. These are all tactics to say 'you're just going to have to accept what we tell you to accept.'"

silence critics, bury facts, ignore science.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada, which booked the plane to soar over Ottawa and Gatineau, Que., on Saturday, has complained the Mounties called for the plane to land because the message it carried was critical of the prime minister.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2012/09/03/psac-banner-harper-grounded.html

capt blah is power-drunk. the planer never entered into restricted air space and being a pilot from the region he was perfectly aware of the restriction and steered clear of it.

however, some are averse to critical thinking.

"They don't get to say, 'We like the Catholics but we don't like the Wiccans,' or 'We like people who practice the Muslim faith but we don't like the Wiccans.' They have to provide those services equally."

any viewpoint contrary to pirate ideology is being sanctioned, this is the democracy that many other nations aspire to???

The Harper government has hired the accounting firm KPMG to crunch the numbers on the controversial F-35 stealth fighter program — at a cost of $643,535 to taxpayers.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/09/07/...of-jet-program/

WTF??? there's 1000's of bureaucrat bean counters in ottawa but THEY CAN NOT FIGURE THE COST? the pirates have to go the third party and fuck us for another $600k??? why can the cost not be detarmined??? why are we buying jets when 1,000,000 FAMILIES are lined up at soup kitchens and food banks EVERY DAY???

fuck the jets, feed the babies!

The figure is almost double the 6,500 identified by federal officials less than a year ago, suggesting that Canada’s citizenship and immigration fraud problems may be more widespread than previously thought.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/09/09/...ship-for-fraud/

hire some folks with fucking brains to screen out the criminals. what is the problem in ottawa? the employees can't detect fraud are unable to investigate claims? can't count money? wtf?

Many of the pharmaceutical drugs taken by Canadians, from Aspirin to cholesterol-lowering pills, are manufactured overseas in countries such as China and India where the safety record of plant inspections is uncertain, a drug policy expert says.

no shit? don't tell grandma, wait maybe its too late

“The decision of the court reaffirms the fact that the data on guns is useful, that the province which contributed to collecting it is entitled to keep it and that it is in the interests of public safety to maintain it,”

http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/polit...ng-gun-registry

what is the harm in arming police officers with advance warning when they attend a domestic dispute that there's an array of shotguns and rifles on site?

what of the unregistered long arms used in the commission of other crimes? what if that same long arm was used by multiple perpetrators in the commission of multiple crimes? certainly most long arms used in this fashion have been stolen but the origin address could be of use in solving some crimes and perhaps ruling out others.

added: it seems to me that an unregistered gun would be very attractive to a criminal, hard to trace. when the thug is already in your house if he finds long arms and munitions for same, they will likely be swiped too.

pirates are simply kowtowing to their filthy rich.

Yeah, people have no right to own property, owning property is a privilege contingent upon registering it with socialists!

Lawyers for the House of Commons are asking a federal judge to prevent the spending watchdog from making public a slew of e-mails in response to an access-to-information request.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/poli...368/?cmpid=rss1

trying to hide the true cost obviously. this is yet another example of pirate transparency.

The gun registry was a farce set up to dampen the outrage of sympathizers and those effected in the Quebec mass shooting of students.

There was and still is a registry in place called the Firearms Acquisition Certificate (FAC). Sure, it didn't require registry of already (pre 80's) ownership of firearms, but it's database could easily have been automated/computerized to appease police personnel to have access.

Regardless... I'm in the camp that it is unnecessary and a waste of taxpayers money. Solely due to the fact that gun crimes are rarely done with the use of deemed hunting firearms (standard hunting long guns, ie: rifles and/or shotguns), but rather illegal auto fire and handguns, which don't validate the costs of nor assist in with having this type of registry let alone deterring crimes used with underground illegal 'weapons'.
