Here are new pics, the pistils ( hairs ) are all over the plant and they are maturing well. Hopefully it won't be quite that long and be ready more at beginning of October but I will wait as long as is possible without losing the plants to frost.

Those girls will not be ready at begining of October, not fully cooked anywise. They just began flowering and have a minimum of 8 weeks to go. One can wish all they want but it takes that much time for bud development, no short cuts on that.
Therefore, you can harvest anytime you want but they wont be ready until at least (absolute minimum)2nd week of October, if they have any sativa in them it will be Halloween or the week after.

Did you put those out late in the season?

I put them out at the beginning of June. And I'm perfectly fine with waiting for as long as I need to, but if I have to harvest a little early so as not to lose them, I will. I'm not being unrealistic, just hoping for the best outcome. [i][/i][b][/b]

If they aren't ready when it starts reaching 5-10º at night, cover them and it can buy you some time. But you probably already know that.
One thing's for sure, purple flowers make pretty harvests.

Thank you for the tip, I was jsut thinking about covering them with burlap or a plastic bag even to trap heat around it at night. It will probably help improve their chances. [i][/i][b][/b]

If you're worried that it will be cuttin it close you should look into cold frames as well. Its like a mini greenhouse. Most use them in the spring to start seedlings but you can use them in the fall as well. You can slap one up in no time if you need to. You can even heat em.

Sad news :

Yesterday, just after dinner time, our neighbor came over to warn us that a teenage acquaintance of her son boosted to him that he noticed the two plants growing in our backward and that he was going to steal them during the night. It didn't matter how upset I felt or how on the verge of tears I was, I knew this would now happen and I had not real recourse other than the evident one and so, from 8:30pm, my partner and I went out into the garden and chopped off both plants, brought them indoors and I proceeded to hang all the branches and trim stuff.
Now I know it will never be the great smoke I was expecting but I know it will still be good ( I had recently sampled buds from both plants ). I'm now looking into starting an indoor grow room and eliminate such heart ripping ordeals.

As I said in your picture thread.... 'bummer'

All the best in your dry/cure to make the best out of your efforts cut short as well as on your future endeavor towards an indoor
