. If anyone here is a postal worker, or is related to somebody who is a postal worker, I think you should make your union aware that Health Canada is intending on making you the SOLE deliverer of Medical Marijuana in Canada. This will no doubt make you the targets of robberies, especially when some of the monthly limits are quite large. Personally, if I was expected to walk around with quantities of marijuana, that people KNEW was coming on a certain day...... I would be requesting a full face helmet before embarking on my route.
I am pretty sure the patients supply would be replaced if postie was bonked on the head and relieved of his bag... I thought the new rules were to make a safer community for everybody??? Except the mailman I guess.

With all the missing mail/packages that goes on with normal things and the added use of 'contractor' carriers, I can only imagine that as a sole carrier that both the risks AND the temptation will see a rise in robberies and thefts.

Yet another short-sighted decision made by the myopic middle managers in HC... give your head a shake!

Most legal handguns are not being delivered to the same individual on a monthly basis. A legal gun owner is probably not too shady. Health Canada themselves have already accused us of being a shady bunch. I can imagine the conversations at the crack house: "Hey man, cuff me a gram, I gotta half pound of this killer medical grade weed coming in the morning. Really? Ya man, the fuckin mailman brings it, for real Bro."
The same conversation probably won't take place with these legit gun owners.

canada post is the thief! they stole a friend's meds and said nothing to him or the sender for 5 weeks, then they said "we don't keep that stuff around here, it was sent to the rcmp". that was a legal shipment from a designated grower to the patient. to this day he still can't find out who has/had it. biatch needs to be fired for injecting her christian morals on a legal system.

That is what they are supposed to do with packages suspected to contain illicit substances, so a DG can never make 100% guarantee that your meds will make it. To add to the insult, a DG can only insure his package for 100$ regardless of if it's a pound or a half ounce.

These are the reasons Mail order fails.

Canada Post legally did what they were supposed to do, because they are unaware of the fact it's a legal shipment.

But you can't inform them of your exemption either, chances a patient has to take with a DG that can't personally deliver your medicine.

Simple solution, Patients name, Growers name, MMAD number for validation on a slip inside the package. This is how HC recommends shipping medical cannabis supply. Therefor, Canada Post has absolutely no excuse as to why your package went missing.

Could they not simply send the meds via registered mail or courier ? This would at the very least reduce the number of parcels going 'missing'.
