There is a fair amt of research indicating that final sexual expression is determined by more than the sex chromosome. The environment during the first few weeks of life plays a large role in sexual determination. To encourage femaleness, the goal is to mimic the outdoors in spring. Cooler temps, higher humidity, fewer hours of light, and bluer light (6500K or higher) have all been shown to encourage female expression. In the seed bed (grow medium), a higher concentration of N and a lower concentration of K have both demonstrated higher female:male ratios.

Try starting at 12/12 for the first week after sprout, then going to 14/10 for a week to 2 before going to a full on veg light cycle. Works pretty well for me. The worst ratio I've seen in a batch of 10 seeds is 4 males, most of the time it's 3 or less.

RC Clarke discusses the complexity of sexual expression in one of the appendices in MJ Botany; Dutch Passion Seed Company championed the research into the effects of the early environment. Both can be found online, if you're inclined to read more.

Yeah i was wondering if he was doing 18 or 24 hours of light for his seedlings? start with 12, then 14, then 16, then 18 if you want more females than males I always say.

Congratulations on the new baby boy. You seem to be pretty good at creating them boys, maybe you should consider pimping them out to others for pollenation. I'm not being a smart ass, but I wonder how much folks would pay for fresh pollens? If I could get online and order pollen like I do seeds, I would be a customer.
