Doobie-Land ?! Bwwwaaaaaa!

Grassy, if you mean Canada and not my little corner of the world, then yes, we have a few hydro stores up here. Where I am, we're lucky to have a single little glass shop.

Good move buying the books, those are both great: my copy of the bible has more post it notes than pages!

So sorry to hear you're wiped out. Chalk it up to experience, stuff happens. If it was a K def, any fertilizer with a high 3rd number, ie. NPK, 0-0-5. Potassium deficiencies are not that common, at least in my experience...no idea about hydro.

I'm sure you'll do much better next time.

DB,

It is funny that you and I live essentially in the heartland of agriculture and there are no stores however, I have just heard that this is one just about an hour away...

Yes, I am heading home to the sand flat for a week. You have to visit relatives and friends occasionally and since I sold both of my British cars, I cannot use that weekend for visiting.

Why did I think I had a potassium deficiency ? I used the chart that was posted..I had big , black spots on my leaves. I though by tossing a bit of granular 0-0-60 on top of the soil, when I watered it would pick some of it up and put it into the soil.

I think one of the biggest problems I am having is fertilizing. Haven't hit that section in Jorges book yet. I am using organics at at much lower numbers .. 4-3-3 .. and that doesn't explain the phos deficiency. The other explanation could be ph. New meter is on it's way. Once I know I am using acceptable standards for water ph, I can start troubleshooting.

All input is gratefully accepted.

Weedman, I will be drilling more holes in the bottom / sides of my buckets and will stop using screens to let the water pass through easier and air get in..

Better this problem hit now and not just before harvest.

With the pot of dirt that I have my hash plant in I put a couple of inches of clay balls in the bottom to help drainage.

To prevent the dirt from plugging up the balls I put a single layer of toilet paper over the balls before adding the dirt.

It's thin enough that roots can penetrate it easily then the tips die off with air exposure causing side branching on the roots higher up. I don't find that spiral of roots in the bottom after cropping the plant.

I also use up to 25% coarse perlite in my dirt mix too for lots of aeration and allow the pot to dry right out between waterings/feedings.

peace

I know its too late, but it looked like my experience with Root bound plants and it has always happened overnight. When its unhappy, its unhappy immediately.

Same old shit, huh ganga? And you felt a need to chime in after grassy stated "Regardless, all plants are dead." two days ago... You're funny.

What do you mean by this ganga? Are you trying to start something again? LOL, or maybe just trying to get on the TOP Poster list again?

I took what Dawg said to be that I had covered all of the possibilities based on the information given. And though all credit is given to LabRat, 0-0-60 was the last item on my list posted the day before LabRat's.

"Can you imagine being married to him!" and "OMG!...Where's my gun!", didn't seem very helpful towards solving grassy's problem, and in your next statement "0-0-60 is your problem like Reb mentioned...", tell me, where did Rebel Dawg mention the 0-0-60?

So we get to read an insult, that you need a gun, and more wrong information as to credits...

And I thought we'd agreed to disagree with all due respect...

Like I said before, you're funny... 52.

PS, I mean no disrespect to LabRat, as I think we agreed on everything except whether to increase or decrease the lighting.

PSS, I mean no disrespect to Rebel Dawg, but did I misunderstand your post?

Hey Labby, we use the same potting method..go figure. Been using hydroton balls for a couple of years now - allows for easy drainage of excess water. I don't do the paper-towel thing though.. yet!
