I know I'm a better uncle when I'm stoned, everyone has commented on it (although most don't know that I'm stoned on this or that day, they just comment on the days when I am stoned that I was particularly good with the little ones that day).
Might not be true for everyone though. I suffer from lupus as well as depression, panic disorder, and some form of psychosis (non-violent). Sober, I still love the kids, but I don't have the energy to do the physical things they love (like helicopter rides or what not), and my energy level drops rapidly as my anxiety rises, I can't be around them more than an hour or two (I love 'em dearly, but two of my nephews are autistic and can be a handful). Smoke a bowl (privately) and I'm playing board games with them, running around the backyard, building sand castles in the sand box, tossing balls around, the whole deal.
It perhaps helps a bit that I have some tolerance and don't get clumsy, confused, or forgetful while stoned. If I did, I wouldn't be that way around kids.
