Hey everyone, im looking for advice on improving my grow room. it has one 150w sun system hps light (16,000 lumens) , one 150w cfl bulb (to change the color spectrum a lil) I have 6 plants growing in there. Any advice is welcome, Thanks in advanced!

seems that 150 watt hps needs to move a lot closer to your plants. Its kind of a (needs a 400 watt hps) space. Otherwise, looks ok for a first time low yield experiment.

okay Should I lower it to about a foot?

If you look at the chart, you can go as close as 4 inches, but 6 is probably fine. If you had it in a sealed hood it might be even more useful. I've seen 400 watt hps in a sealed hood, with the plants touching the lamps, properly vented, with no damage to plants.

thank-you very much those charts are invaluable! going to lower my light. im not sure if i can seal out the bulb because the ballast is mounted inside the hood. so i will lower it to 6 inches and see what happens

Make sure you have good air circulation in that space, a nice 12 inch oscillating fan is the right size.

I installed a 5,000 btu air conditoner in my room and also have an instake fan in the bottom, and an exhaust out the top, a steady 75f in there. im now trying to increase humitiy with a bowl of wet perlite which increased it by about 5% already. also put an 12 inch oscillating fan in the room just now

What is the CFL's temp colour i.e. 2700k for flowering, or 6500K for veg ? One of the niceties of using CFLs is you can place them anywhere you need extra light. Use a small fan to keep the bulb from burning any leaves, and you can get the sucker pretty close to your plants.

Seems to be working out quite great. here's an updated pic. Cut it down to 4 plants in there. X2 blueberry x1 afghan x1 sage. They look delicious. I need proper nutrients and they could have been better.
