Background:
While I have not been a religious person for most of my life, I did have a sense, or feeling of a greater power of some kind at work on Earth and in the universe in general.

Growing older, getting married, having children all had their impacts on me and my thinking. One of my children, my son, was exceptionally caring and compassionate. It was a terrible thing to witness how people in the world - from his kindergarten teacher to bullies, to other adults - tear down this compassion and mock and ridicule it until he learned to hide it from most of the people he interacted with. Today he is a 17 year old teenager who is basically an outsider in his own high school due to this nature of his. He has already matured enough to figure out that if other people are put off by his compassionate nature, then that is their problem, not his.

This has led me to thinking on other acts of evil that commonly take place in our society today.

Random acts of vandalism - this points to the same nature of anything nice or good needs to be destroyed or made not so nice or good. This has become so commonplace that it isn't even a big deal anymore. Forum hacking, stealing from little old ladies front lawns, graffiti, etc etc etc.

Acts of disrespect - those 13 year old kids taunting a grandma on the school bus - showing the pervasive nature of this 'beating down' of anything or anyone who is not dark or evil themselves. Never mind these were 13 year old KIDS doing this to an ADULT. People parking in handicap spots, not holding open doors for others, texting while with a person, etc etc etc.

Acts of hate - don't have to look far for this one, you are already on an internet forum . Hate is a very strong, ugly word that leads to bias and violence. People hate: lineups, traffic, commercials, other races, certain animals, certain foods, etc etc etc.

Want to prove this for yourself? All you have to do is be over-the-top nice and compassionate to everyone you meet and see it unfold. You will stand out immensely and you will probably feel uncomfortable doing it as well...this is due to the evil and the influence it has had on us all since birth. To accomplish this help anyone and everyone you see that needs it in whatever way you can. Be super pleasant and warm in person and online. In short order, the evil that is will come and try to knock you down or stop you. That is when you have to make a decision - stay the course or cave to worldly pressures to conform.

This is the world we live in. The interactions we have on a daily basis contribute to the overall good or evil on the planet. Best thing to do right now, put on some Bob Marley, smoke a big fat one and meditate on goodness and kindness and exude it from your very being...Bob Marley was right all along.

But if you have enough courage then you will be able to stand up and speak the message of love, even though it can be dangerous. You will find a lot of people suddenly willing to con forward and agree with you. This is the silent majority, they only await a leader.

Did you forget how many people donated money when they heard about the little old lady who got bullied? Hundreds of thousands! We are sometimes deceived into thinking how horrible this world is, because those who are rude, greedy and bad are also clamouring for attention. They make the most noise.

The sage goes quietly about his or her business, unnoticed by the masses. They need no recognition or reward for doing good deeds. The deeds are their own reward.

there are parallels between Christian Angelology and what you just posted from Hindu. We to, recognize that the devil walks the earth seeking who he might devour. We know that by resisting evil, he will flee from us.

And we see our good deeds as being stored up in Heaven, in which we will be judged by them in the end times.
