I agree with Ted that it is a bit of a loaded question. By having the exact same rights as a healthy person, does that not qualify still facing a lot of injustices like medicating in public being a crime, etc.? I think everyone should have equal rights, but our rights are quite eroded and controlled by our governments. I don't believe that we should accept the idea that we have freedom and free will (and in small print) as long as you follow this long list of discriminatory rules.

My point exactly. All people should have the same basic rights but those who have need, not choice, should have a few extra rights like medicating in public, not paying taxes on their medicine, and being sure they have enough of their medicine to do the job. For those who say we should not have any limits on how much you can grow, I agree, but in reality look there are limits even on the amount of beer you can make for your self. And it is something you can buy in most stores. There will always be some limits but they shouldn't interfere with the needs of medical use.

SO making people pay a tax on something they need to live without pain. [AND REMEMBER THE PAIN WILL KEEP LOTS OF THEM FOR WORKING ] Having them pay that tax along with those who just wish to party is what you call making sense? Not letting people take their medicine in public that's making sense?

patients should be able to grow what they need. recreational users should grow what they need.

together the garden will be of adequate size to keep everyone happy.

my concern revolves around a patient not losing their job because they fail a pee test. this it the case i was thinking when i voted the "same rights" as everyone else.

example:
if my coworker has a bad back and is prescribed vicodin he is free to use it without fear of losing his job.
if i have a bad back and am prescribed marijuana, i want the same rights afforded my coworker. i want job security from unfair firing equal to my coworker.

i hope my rant makes sense. it's late.

I was thinking the right to use your medicine at work as opposed to a recreational user. Or when bought, not self grown, not having to pay taxes on medicine just as all other medicines are not taxed. Unlike beer which is for fun but taxed.
