Hello. Can I please have some advice. I'm planning on growing a couple of plants in my appt. I have 5x5 room.

Right now, all I have is the ballast, and I don't know what size and type of bulb to use.

I also need help on how to cooling once I have my light setup.

Can anyone lead me to the right direction. Thanks.

Well if you can tell use more about the ballest.Is it a dig one or mag drive if mag drive and you do't know the size take the top off the case and gogoole the model number if a dig one just find the model number and do the same as the mag drive look it up. Then i would tell you before you even wet a seed or get a cutting is to read,read and when you think you have it all, read some more is the best info any one can give you.


Sorry for being Blunt but asking before reading here the guys are not going to help out much as you have not done your home work.

Its obvious you need help with this..
start by looking at your ballast and see what wattage its for..

If you have a Hydro Store near you???
GO and ask them to help you so you don't go and spend money on things you don't need..
Make a list and post it here..

Hi guys. So, so far this is what I have.

A room that's 5'x5' and 1 ballast.

The ballast has a sticker at the back that says

OK-HPS/MH15201034

CW AUTOTRANSFORMER BALLAST
1000W S52 SODIUM LAMP OR 1000W M47 METAL HALIDE LAMP
120/208/240/277V 60Hz


Yesterday, I went to a hydroponics store and was clueless on what to get. I guess, as indicated by the ballast sticker, Im probably gonna need a 1000w bulb. I hope this is not too much for the small room.
I also don't know which type to get?

Should I buy a reflector hood for the light?

On my sunday jog earlier today, I was thinking of how to cool the room when my light is ready, and then I found a humidifier fan sitting on the curb for free... I went back home and went back for it with my car...Tested it, and it blows nice cool air; and that's without the icewater in it yet.... I hope this freebyy helps....

ok for a 5x5' room a 1000w is a bit much but as long as you can cool the room then you will be ok. if u have the cash go get a air cooled hood. you will beable to control your heat better.

Forgiven, do yourself a huge favour and pick up a couple grow bibles. Read them a few times, then read them again. Seriously!

Not knowing what you are getting into could end up costing a lot of wasted time and money.
