Can you get a referral to an ophthalmologist? I understand that they can sign your MMAR papers as medical practitioners. An optometrist gives the referral and ophthalmologist (specialist) signs the paper or the optometrist signs after the ophthalmologist (specialist) visit has been done and the requirements met.

My optometrist (who is not my signing doctor) reminded me that medicine needs to be taken regularly to keep glaucoma pressure from building....after he knew about my daily cannabis consumption. He also told me that if I ever stopped using cannabis that I needed to get checked every six months to make sure the pressure wasn't building rapidly once cannabis wasn't present to keep it in check.

He didn't feel that cannabis prevented glaucoma but he felt strongly that it was likely helping my body cope with the condition without needing pharmaceuticals, and it certainly wasn't hurting me in any way.

Just a thought....you also might be surprised by your doctor if you are honest with him about your use. He might be glad you finally brought it up because he is feeling awkward himself wondering what your reaction might be if he does....and he doesn't want to lose you as a patient. Huh, wouldn't that be a kick in the pants?

peace

Greenleaf clinic I heard has a max limit/ceiling the doctor is willing to sign. 15 grams per day tops.

Nothing wrong with that but if you require more or wish to grow for yourself there are other places that don't have a cap.

At the moment I am symptom free, I have what is termed glaucoma suspect, which means I have conditions that might develop into glaucoma. So I am using marijuana as a preventative. I have an eye check up every two years and so far there has been no change for the worse. Seems that the medical profession wants my eyeballs to explode before they deem me worthy of attention.

Hi guy's - been a while.
Just got my Licence on July 6 thanks to GreenLeaf Clinic.
Slight delay because my specialist retired and was removed from the federal list but not from the BC list - didn't matter GreenLeaf got on it right away and had the papers required in the mail within 48 hours. Nice people - easy to work with and has a 100% approval rate.
Got a question - give them a call.
The one thing that I have found since getting the licence is the lack of stress !! That in it's self is a great relief.
Now we have to fight to keep growing - Get active
Peace&Pot

My spouse recieved her Federal Exemption it took 3-4 weeks for them to process it and send her exemption papers.

They sent a yellow sheet of paper along with them stating they will not issue an identification card.

Wow...3-4 weeks. It wasn't long ago when it took 3-4 months, minimum!

Congrats to those receiving their MMAR papers.

I can't even get a proper diagnosis of my joint pain to get any kind of access to the MMAR program.

We keep getting doctors from South Africa that are here today, gone tomorrow. Very religious and just legal drug pushers with no knowledge or training in nutrition and/or alternative treatments. They are also held back by our right-wing conservative gov't here in Alberta. The gov't actively dissuades doctors from signing here. Class action lawsuit against the gov't would be nice.

I've also been seeing a therapist for the past year for chronic depression. He works for the SB gov't Mental Health unit and I've told him about my cannabis use and it's effectiveness in keeping me sane without all the weird side effects that I've got from all the meds I've tried in the last 30+ years. I haven't seen him in a couple of months but plan to go back soon. After losing my job in early June I find myself back in that deep dark hole and can't seem to get out on my own.

I'll be asking if he can sign my papers or at least give me a written diagnosis of my depression so that I have something to show should I ever find myself in front of a judge for a cannabis related charge.

Damn! I need a toke right now. My heart is pounding like crazy just writing about this. Haven't had an anxiety attack in almost a year but it sure feels like I'm going there now.

bong Much better but still on edge.

I've heard that you can get a form for your doctor to sign that explains that you did request him sign your MMAR forms and why he wouldn't. That should be something to have in court in one's favor shouldn't it? If I can get the goof to even acknowledge and sign that.

He's the fourth doctor I've asked to sign in the last few years and at least this one took the forms from me and read them over. Says that he used to work in the insane asylum in Africa and most of the patients there were there because the went nuts from smoking pot. Laughed when I suggested that they started smoking pot to quiet the voices in their heads which is usually the case.

Just called my therapist and left a message. Therapy has been the best thing to help me with this depression other than pot. I noticed that my need for pot diminished as my therapy progressed too. Not enough to get me to quit altogether, but cut my small usage in half at least. I use less than 1/4 oz a month tho I think maybe if I increased my dosage I'd have better results with my joint pain and the muscle spasms in my fingers.

If I could legally grow I'd get more into medibles and ointments.

peace

watch out for medicalmarijuana.ca, and I understand the "director" of medicalmarijuana.ca is somehow tied in with greanleaf. if so,they have my mmar permit to grow and yet continue to steal my crop while sending me nothing.
"they ripoff disabled vets"
the crap they did send wasn't fit for hemp. its seeded, burns black, gave me an instant headache, and for the first time in my life I actually threw it in the garbage. then they cut off all communication while still continuing to grow my crop and why don't I stop them? I tried and health canada told me "in writing" that unless the dg is willing to surrender the permit I can't do shit until the renewal.
well then chad, you can look forward to another 6 months of daily attacks in the media, media interviews, as well as legal action for breach of contract and theft. so suck on that.
I call on my alumni's to support me in this endeavour all of those who served in cdn forces, firefighters, emt's to bring the truth to light on these a-holes and let them know our government might support illegal gang activity with our meds but we don't.

I checked out that medicalmarijuana.ca a long time ago and considered them shady. There should be a thread in here where we were discussing those guys and others.

I'd be doing my own growing so I'll not be handing that off to anyone if I ever get my MMAR.

My son has his and I'm thinking he should get his old man to be his DG. He's in BC tho and I'm not sure how it would all work.

It disgusts me how our vets are treated. From the top of our government to the lowliest of scumbags like medicalmarijuana.ca.

I'm surprised that Hellth Canada doesn't take a more serious look at medicalmarijuana.ca. You are certainly not the only one getting screwed by them and they've likely had other complaints.

Give 'em Hell!
