I've done a lot of reading about people doing the same. According to most, yeah, it didn't decrease yield. Interesting stuff,i'll probably experiment with that later as well.

Peace

LoL - just to stir the pot a bit. To help save $ on the old energy bills I used to do:

Veg 15/9
Flower 11/13 for 4wks then 10/14 for remaining time.

It didn't affect yeilds at all, nor quality and it saved me a fair amount on my bills.

Cheers

Ya Pulverizer, I kinda do same for flowering. 10/14.

In my mother room and veg room, I have my 1000,s only on for 10 hrs, rest time i run floro,s. i didnt notice any change to flowers, i did notice difference in my hydro bill.

I believe if your plants are flowering and you increase the light (to get bigger budz) you may end up with hermi plants. If your genetics are not stable and are prone to hermi a change of light cycle can cause hermi. I would weigh the options on this one carefully. Nature doesn't increase the light time while flowering. This plant is in a veg state when the light is increasing, at most you will slow the flowering and it will try to revege.

But I'm an outdoor grower, so take it with a grain of salt. Just my observations.
