An alert citizen spotted a drug deal in progress and helped track down a dealer Tuesday, according to Corvallis police.
Officers found Darren Perreard, 41, near Northwest 14th Street and Northwest Monroe Avenue.
Perreard was carrying nearly 18 ounces of marijuana and more than two ounces of mushrooms, said police. Employees at the state crime lab are now working to determine whether the mushrooms were psychedelic and, therefore, illegal.
Perreard now faces a number of drug-related charges.
Corvallis police are still looking for the second suspect, described as a white male, in his 40s or 50s, with a bald head and wearing a black shirt. Anyone with information about him should contact Corvallis police.
