I have an indoor plant limit of 5 plants, however while I have my lights going at night theres plenty of sun to go around during the day.
Curious if Health Canada would mind me putting my girls outside during the day to catch some plentiful sunlight.
It clearly says 5 inside and 0 outside, but what if I was cleaning my grow room, or had a spider mite attack would it be acceptable to set them outside whilst I cleaned and treated the situation?
I just feel foolish running lights when my current outside sunlight is excellent.
Any tips or advice would be great.
Ps: I assum that I could switch my whole production certificate around, however I am unsure how long that would take and I also really wanna have a full indoor grow. The reason for my inquiry is the fact that I have 3 dwc plants currently in 12/12, and two mothers under cfls. Well i know those moms would do fantastic outside as they are in soil pots..

Hello MrLongToe and welcome to CC smile

Legally speaking, you cannot grow outdoors. Period. The only answer is to reapply for an outdoor growers license. As to how long this will take, I have no idea....used to be brutally slow, but I've heard it's finally picking up a little.

With such a small limit, there is another factor to consider. HC has never officially defined what a 'plant' is (could be wrong on this, but I did ask this same question to an HC official, who responded with crystal clear double-talk and circular dialogue....). So, for the moment let's assume a plant is any viable cannabis plant, i.e seeds would not count. Every time you do cuttings, crack a few seeds, create a mother plant, whatever, you need to keep the total down to five!

Now, having said all that, it is clearly impractical and nearly impossible to stay within such a small limit. Mine is fifteen plants, which I have occasionally exceeded..... wink wink You may wish to ask for a higher limit. Then again, a judge would see the great holes in this system, and likely as not charge you for having a few seedlings starting out as you harvest your five plants.

Good luck

I think a greenhouse is considered an indoor grow but double check with health Canada.

I have heard the same.

But then that bring up the question, what constitutes a greenhouse?

So if you were busted could your "greenhouse" just not have its walls and roof up at the moment?

These are very grey areas, up to interpretation if you ask me.

Don't worry about giving them some sun once in a while. You are still growing indoors, just giving them some natural for a while. If they would ever be foolish enough to try and bust you with that, then fuck I don't know man.

While providing natural light to your plants is at face value a good idea, there is at least one issue to keep in mind: insects. If you were to move the pots outdoors for a few hours day, odds are you'd be bringing in a nasty surprise every evening.

The chances of being busted for growing outdoors are slim, but not 'none', particularly if the plants are visible from anywhere other than your own yard. If you do not follow the exceptions as outlined with your license, you may as well not have one. S'up to you.
