Hey Larry looks like a lockout of some kind, most likely nitrogen. When growing indoors versus outdoor you must take total control like mother nature does outside.

Ph is critical for uptake of nutrients, mother nature buffers ph by using enviormental factors such as rain, run off, even something like pine needles changes ph. Indoors is the same sept you have to control it. I would use a different medium even if your the type of grower you say. I am not a soil gardener but think that Miricle grow and other mixes you buy are great for starters but IMO not to finish in.

There are quite a few suttle differences from outdoor to indoors and ph control is one at the top of the list.

I would say flush that baby really good, pick up a $20 ph pen and some decent food. Start her off again at 1/4 to 1/2 strength and watch your run off keeping in the right range.

Good Luck

Thanks, Ganja. Guess i'll get a ph pen and go from there. Also will be changing out my soil mix on my next go-round.

Instead of Miracle Gro, you should take a look at the Kellogg's brand soil. It's sold at Home Depot/Lowe's, it's realtively cheap (3cu ft for $7) and it's OMRI certified. MG is known to have an acidic based soil, so that's probably your main problem. If you want to spend a little more money on soil, you can always check out Pro Mix, Roots 707, Fox Farm, Michigan Made Mix, etc... Good luck bro, happy growing!

ok i have had this same issue before...but as mentioned their are a few things i read that ring a bell..
the main reason(s) for that leaf curl is:
heat and i dont mean build up..the leaves themselves might be to hot. solution better fan.
miracle grow. ok i used to use MG i picked out every lil ball(before mg made mg organic) MG IS THE WORST POSSABLE SOURCE FOR A MEDIUM ON THE PLANET IF YOU SEE HOW THE STORES AND WAREHOUSES STORE IT! THAT SHOULD BE YOUR INDACATOR RIGHT THERE. they store it outside! it gets rained on and seepage accours. so basically the dirt is what i call toxic earth the water being seeped in basically activates the soil IE all the lil food balls explode/degrade/release their food.same with MG organic it does not contain the nute balls but it is also stored in the rain and what happens with that is all the microbes become active and start to eat and flourish in the bag welll what do the microbs do? they consume and poop. but with no plant to use the poop the build up and BAM toxic earth.
nute mix. by this i mean you have upped the nute mix to fast and the plants are now suffering from a lock out. not a full lock out just of one or 2 minor ingredients like iron or copper or mag etc etc.
and as mentioned ph but that should have been the first thing you checked. unless....here it comes...your in a stable well made organic soil. i like you dont ph not because im lazy because i just dont have to its all in the mix.
if your seeking a problem free grow then you just gotta suck it up and use the right damn ingredients its as simple as that ive been here for years and see the same problems over and over..the best thing to do is quit cutting corners and just do it right the first time.oh mg is cheaper...bullshit! any of the major good brands of soil are only about 5/8$ more than mg..fuck it short yourself one pack of ciggarettes and bam good healthy non toxic medium. did you know that to build your own soils cost about 65$? yeah only 65$ and them dry ammendment will last you several runs not just one.

It's a PH Problem. Enough said. Do as instructed with the purchasing of a PH pen, keep it at 6.3-6.5 when watering, and you shouldn't have any problems from there. MG is probably the cause of your PH issues - you're right, it's not bad soil, just has many unmentioned issues that the can surprise growers who don't do all of their own supplementing. you've got your style, stick to it brother - Just try a different soil and rock that PH where your plants want it!

I really appreciate the counsel. I see how the MG with all it's nute balls can go haywire. $ ain't the issue. just ignorance. i'm fixin to change out my soil next go-round and will NOT use MG. That, and pay mo' attention to the ph. I think this grow will be ok, curled leaves and all, but bet my next will be better yet.

I just use the drops for ph testing. They aren't accurate to the hundredths, but plenty good for your needs. And that leaf curl is almost always a sign of too much nitrogen. Nitrogen lockout would cause yellowing leaves, not green and curled.

I like to make my own soil and recycle it adding 30% new soil each grow and amending the original soil. I make my soil for a fraction of the cost of MG or any other commercial soil mix. You still using a bed for growing in or did u switch to pots?

larry, for a guy that has been growing for 40 years, you must be on a slow learning curve.
Look guy, I don't want to argue or throw dirt at each other. What I will state unequaiviqually is tha MG may work on tomatoes but it does not have the correct chemical base or plain ole ingredients needed by the cannabis plant. It is absolutely the worst product on the market for weed.
Wouldnt you like to have the best smoke in your city? If not, and you would rather smoke tainted meds, have at it.
Otherwise get yourself a ph pen and switch your food source.

Well, i guess the consensus is that MG is probly at the root (no pun intended) of my curled leaves. Generally speaking it would seem that 1. MG has too many uncontrollable nute factors. 2. There are alot of better soil mixes availiable. And 3. I need to start checking my ph. I'm not inclined towards MG at all. It's just what was available at the time i was filling my beds and was alot of work to move all that shit around and figgered i might as well use it since there was a good 20 bags or so all set up. Yeah, GBuds, I'm still using a bed.(2, actually. veg & flower) I just like it and it works for my setup. Now before i go again inside this fall i aim to start swapping out the MG with one of these others that were recommended. I'm thinking that probly GBuds has the right of it and maybe too much N. The plants are all real green and most of the foliage looks ok. Just the one is kinda bad and one other has a little curling going on. That's what i'm gonna go with. Too late now anyhow, as i have about 4 weeks left on this batch and they are looking pretty sweet. Smelling good and dank and putting on some nice frosting. So, thanks to y'all for your input. You've cured me of ever using MG in the future and given me some good pointers. Guess old "outdoor habits" are hard to change, but i'm getting the hang of it and really like the control one has indoors. No fuking bugs or stray shitty pollen floating aroung. And, GBuds, i'd be interested in how you make your soil. Wouldn't that take a hell of alot of compost?

I asked if were growing in beds or pots for a reason. Some strains will curl leaves like that when they become pot bound. Actually, you are not immune to this in beds either. Roots choking each other out can cause the same effect.

As far as the soil mix goes, yes and no about the compost. Either way you will need X cu. ft. of soil to fill the bed. You are basically paying for someone else to mix it for you when you purchase pre-mixed soils. The best thing about making your own is that you will know exactly what is in it, and you will be able to custom tailor it to your specific strains after a grow or two in it. Here is a link to my soil mix: J.A.W.S Mix
