ah, a piece of r20 insulation is 6" thick. Having the insulation in the door 1"-2" thick should suffice. Hard to make the door look nice once it gets much thicker than that I found, It gets too puffy.

ah thanks! Its most definitely not needed. But I like to go fancy and over the top sometimes. It helps keep noise muffled slightly, I can keep my main door to the room open if I want and not have much noise pollution come out.
Main reason being when I'm in the room, I like to be able to hear whats going on out of the room. Damn thing is like a cave with no windows and 1 door. So I can have her zipped closed, with the door open. Note that 3ft from my main door to the room, is a 2nd deadbolted door. So that main door being open is not a big deal.

even with my growbox idea i'll probably still be using hoser's zipper door,it looks good for growing in somewhat tight spaces.
