Hi all,

Been too CC.Com plenty in the past, reading, and researching, and just all around enjoying the information overload. Finally decided to sign up, as my grow room is nearing operational, and I had some questions.

I plan on using a 10x10x8 Grow Tent, which I already have, and I will be growing in the vicinity of 20 plants. I was planning on starting out with 2 1k lights, as I was given 2 wonderful 1k digital ballasts.

My main question is, between the 20 plants and the 2 1K lights, what are my educated odds of landing 3 pounds? Sorry if that comes off as an uneducated obnoxious question, but 3 pounds is the number I am attempting to land per cycle.

I'm sure I'll have more questions as set up gets closer and closer to completion, but presently the above is all. Hope to get to know some of you throughout conversation.

Cheers

Dr.Chronic smiletoke

I know that an experienced grower can get a gram per watt or better. So you have 2000 watts. 2000 watts divided by 454grams(1 pound) equals 4.4 pounds. So yes it is possible, however to obtain those numbers you would have to have your grow dialed in and be good at your trade.

On a first grow, you would be lucky to attain such a goal but it is absolutely doable and then some. This is dependent upon many things such as strain but mostly to skill on the growers part.

Thanks for the responses guys, I have some highly experienced growers in my corner, whom aren't always available, but plan on being here upon setup completion to do a once over. But since they aren't always available, I thought it best to make some new online friends smile

Well, (and I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong), 2000 watts is way overkill for that size tent.

If it's just for veg 1-1000W is plenty. 2-1000W might be justifiable if the tent is full to the max with green.

The heat issues you will run into with just one lamp are enough of a pain in the ass. More than double-trouble with two,

Best of luck!

peace

I would have to disagree with you LabRat. I presently am running 2200 watts in a 6'4" x 6'4" x 6'4" tent with no problems. 2000 in a 10 x 10 x 8 tent is easy, could actually run 6 x 1000 there if ducted correctly.
I am an avid believer that there is no such thing as to much light, to much heat, yes, but not to much light.

Yup pound the light to them, keep that temp in check and you'll be amazed at what can be had in a 10x10. 3 lbs., easy if ya play your cards right. Shave their legs well so you have tops only and you can count on max yeild for that size.

IMO

Shave my legs well? Ok, now you're talking in a sense I have yet to learn. Please elaborate, I love filling myself full of information.

On a side note;

1. I made a mistake, It's 8' x 8' x 6.6', not 10x10.

2. I plan on using a portable ac machine to counter balance the heat from the lights, and the digital ballasts will be outside the tent, with the way I have set it up.

3. I also found a product online, it's a disposable co2 thing, not sure how good it is, but figured I would give it a try for my first cycle.

Any more advice will be greatly appreciated...

Also, I have been considering going hydroponic and was wondering if it's true that hydro yields more?
