Hi, I cleaned my glass bong with Denture cleaner (Kukident-type) tabs, used for cleaning third teeth.
The bong is clean, but the taste is so bad, I vomitted. Having rinsed the b. w/ hot water at least 15 times, cooked it out, and today put it in the dish-washer.

Has anybody also tried this "tip"? How did you recover your bong or how would you try?

Rubbing Alcohol and Kosher Salt is the way to clean glass.

I've never heard of denture tabs for cleaning my glasswear, and that's probably why. stick to the tried and true rubbing alcohol and salt.

Lmao ....third teeth??? that's a term you don't hear everyday. As was stated, use iso and some salt. Thanks for the giggles though.

Just a couple of comments: I believe you are using the term 'proof' incorrectly. Ninety proof alcohol is roughly forty-five% alcohol to water, i.e. twice it's concentration (7:4 if you want to be picky about it!).

Seventy percent alcohol, whether it is iso, methanol, or ethanol, will generally clean as well as absolute (100%). If we're talking killing bacteria or mold, seventy is definitely superior. As for resin removal, you may have a point, although it is certainly not worth the extra cost. Rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) is inexpensive. Start increasing it's concentration, and the price goes way up!

BTW, most commercial glass cleaners sold in head-shops are a mix of iso and salt, with perfume and colour added. Not worth the $.

I've been thinking about making a "special" cleaner. just to spiffy up the smell of the iso, and use a small splash of orange peel oil or something like that.
