I just had a big laugh folks were talking about Mitt's tax returns and someone tried to claim Rommy didn't need to release more than 2 years because McCain, and Kerry both only released 2 years. Yes but neither got elected was my answer. So if Mitt wants to be grouped with them it's alright by me!

Maddow takes down Limbaugh’s Bane/Bain conspiracy theory

On Tuesday night’s edition of “The Rachel Maddow Show,” host Rachel Maddow delved into Rush Limbaugh’s latest flight of fancy, the supposed connection between Tom Hardy’s character in the new Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” a villain named Bane, and Bain Capital, the venture capitalist group founded by former Massachusetts governor and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. The villain’s name, Limbaugh said, is just another smear by liberals against conservatives, in spite of the fact that, as Maddow pointed out, the character Bane has been around for decades, the movie has been in production for years and the Republican Party has only known for a few weeks that Romney will be their nominee in the fall.

Let’s see if we can unpack this, shall we? As Maddow pointed out, during his show yesterday, Limbaugh discovered that there’s a Batman film coming out with an ominously named villain.

“Do you know the name of the villain in this movie?” he asked. “Bane. The villain in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is named Bane, B-A-N-E. What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran, and around which there’s this make-believe controversy? Bain.”

Yes, Rush Limbaugh, if you close your eyes, the two words are exactly the same!

“The movie has been in the works for a long time, the release date has been known, summer 2012 for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane?” he insisted.

“Yes, you see, because the villains in Batman were pre-named DECADES IN ADVANCE of the 2012 election, in which one of the candidates would have a contested affiliation with a company named Bain!” mocked Maddow. “That’s why they named that villain Bane!”

Maddow pointed out other secret liberal plants in the world of entertainment. “Gone with the Wind,” for example, was an opening salvo from the green energy movement, and the character Apollo Creed from the “Rocky” movies is proof that the moon landing was faked.

In its decision to only take in information from within the safe confines of its own epistemological bubble, the American right has become “addicted to conspiracy theories,” said Maddow. The results can be hilarious, like Limbaugh’s misfire at the “Dark Knight” franchise, or all too real and tragic, like the destruction of ACORN or the disenfranchisement of black voters because Republicans are busy chasing down mythical cases of voter fraud.

Both the Daily Show and the Colbert Report made the SAME BANE/BAIN analogy and it was hella funny.

I'm surprised Rush even made the connection with his RX drug-eaten brain, really.

The fact one pundit goes after another pundit regarding the invocation of a comic book movie villain is actually NEWS WORTHY is absolutely ludicrous, and the exact reason I don't watch or listen to ANY of these wankers.

Maddow's just as lame as Rush. Fox is on par with CNN and MSNBC. Dems = Republicans.

I can't believe anyone truly swallows anything any of them say, sans scrutiny.

Prove it...baseless claim without a SHRED of evidence..

That means that Mitt Romney rigged the crowd to support him there so he could go on TV and say, ‘You know, actually I got a lot of support among African American leaders,’” Schultz noted.

Jon Stewart destroys conservative hypocrisy on frivolous demands for documents

On his show Wednesday night, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart said over the past three and half years conservatives had given liberals the “master class” on how to be “dicks” about documents.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has repeatedly insisted that he would not release more than his 2010 and 2011 tax returns, even though his own father set a standard of releasing 12 years of returns. As Stewart explained, Romney knows “the Democrats will be mean” if he releases any additional tax information.

“I see your concern,” he said. “These Obama people. Whatever you release it, will never be enough. They will just keep hounding you with frivolous transparency demands like this.”

Stewart then played clips of conservatives demanding Obama release his college transcripts, proof he was president of the Harvard Law Review, records from the Illinois state Senate, an “indelible record” of Michelle Obama using the word “whiteys,” the White House visitor records, and — of course — his birth certificate.

But even after Obama released his long-form birth certificate, conservatives were still not satisfied. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio recently claimed the document was a forgery.

“Yes. Thank you Sheriff Joe,” Stewart joked. “If anyone knows how to authenticate a 50-year-old Hawaiian birth certificate, it is the Arizona County Sheriff.”

Jon stewart writes jokes..you shouldnt get your "news" from a comedian..His job is to raise revenue and ratings not report news.

The numerical code on certain parts of his certificate indicate that some parts were not filled out at the time... yet the section about his parents seem to be completed...hmmmm

Sheriff Arpaio's source of this information is the actual 95 year old former state worker who actually signed the certificates for his state...including obamas...

The question is, where did obama get the empty, signed certificate?
