I just started flowering and my humidity is right at 50%ish. I kno i need to get it as close to 40 as possible, should i get a dehumidifier or the bucket full of drying crystals. Or if i get a dehumidifier, wuts a good one for a 3.5ftx3.5ftx7ft grow box? Thanks guys

K.I.S.S. I'd try the drying crystals first, it would be one less appliance sucking power.
I saw them at the local dollar store a while back, if you have any near you it would probably save you about 5 bucks. De-humidifiers are a bit more pricy, $75-150 at the start of this winter.

you can buy a stronger exhaust fan or just get another one. also be careful of how much humidity your pushing in the room if its more than 40% then reduce the speed of the fan by covering up some of the intake to the fan pushing air in the room. but i have not tried the crystals, i also think u should give that a try first

50's to mid-50's is actually acceptable RH in my opinion. I have never had a mold or mildew outbreak at or around those levels. In fact, my RH right now is 56%... No mold, mildew or bud-rot. The more important aspect here is the difference between night-time humidity and day-time humidity. If your RH percentage stays pretty consistent and does not jump around but a couple points, you should be fine. I have seen other grows however where the day-time RH was kept at 50-55ish, then it swung to almost 70-72% with lights off! This is what you don't want, and letting the plants be subjected to such a high differential is what causes mold/mildew outbreaks.
Just keep an eye on the difference between your lights on and lights off humidity levels. It is best to check the lights off humidity at least 8 hours into the dark cycle as it will give an accurate assessment of what is happening through the night.
Don't begin to freak out and treat a problem before you know it is a problem for sure... It will save you money in the long run.

Peace, E1

In dark time the lowest ive seen it is 46% and highest with light on is 54%. So its not jumping too bad, i wanted to stabilized it in the 45-50 range but ill keep an eye on it incase. And my temp goes from 73 at night to 80 with the lights on, so i think with both light and rh im within acceptable means, just gotta monitor like a hawk.

Yep, you'll be fine! Just monitor for swings.
You can also do a preventative foliar treatment with organocide during weeks 1-2 of 12/12 ONLY before the buds start forming. As soon as you see buds forming and not just a barrage of pistils, stop foliar treatment. I treat my clones right before I get ready to place them into their medium(coco, rockwool etc.). I find that preventative treatment is your best defense especially with powdery mildew. Once you have a powdery mildew outbreak, you'll just be fighting it back. It never really dies completely because it is a systemic disease. It just goes dormant for a while and when your plant's tissues have the right PH for spores to germinate, you get another outbreak.

With the organocide, I use 10mL/Liter of warm water. Shake it vigorously between spraying because the oils will separate from the water. All my clones receive a preventative treatment of organocide, never had a PM outbreak since! If you ever get PM real bad on small clones or vegging plants, you can make a SAFER(brand) sulfur solution in a 5 gal bucket and dunk the clones/plants in for around 30 seconds. The sulfur will coat the entire surface of the plant changing the PH to make it inhospitable for mildew!

Peace, E1
