It's not the entire bill that will need reversing.. all the gun stuffs can stay. We only need to actually legalize marijuana, or at least decriminalize, allowing "personal" production of a small amount in your own home. Once we do that.. then the bill can be amended.

So lets say marijuana is decriminalized, can you still be arrested under c10 until c10 is amended?

They'd time it so it's amended before the actual date of announcement. When Chretien tried before, he announced their plans of up to 14 grams personal, or so, but said "Don't light up yet...". They'll announce their intentions, then go through all the legal stuffs needed to amend the bill.. then announce it's either legal or decriminalized.. as of a certain date.

That is, of course, "if" Washington doesn't threaten to shut the borders again.

That would be typical Chretian double speak to give his government an excuse for not following through on what amounts to a vote whore`s rhetoric. "The vast majority of the people who cross our border pose no risk to either country,"
Jean Chretien "the fast lane for Canada-U.S. trade. Twenty-five percent of our two-way trade, or 120 billion U.S. dollars, travels the bridge; seven thousand trucks cross it every day. The value of the trade that crosses this bridge exceeds all of U.S. trade with Japan."
Jean Chretien "Perhaps there were a few million dollars that might have been stolen in the process. But how many millions of dollars have we saved because we have re-established the stability of Canada by keeping it a united country?"
Jean Chretien "We're not legalizing it, we're decriminalizing."

– Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, April 29, 2003

"I don't know what is marijuana. Perhaps I will try it when it will no longer be criminal. I will have my money for my fine and a joint in the other hand," Fucking vote whores..............

Actually, it was also Paul Martin.. they both got the threats from Washington. If you've seen "The Union: The Business Behind Getting High".. former Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell talks about how the US Drug Czar at the time.. John Walters.. came up here and said they'd shut the borders. Campbell's response.. "Does California want to be thirsty and without power?"

Canada has the means to fight the USA, but not the balls.

They get water, electric power, oil, wood, and the list goes on and on. If Canada would grow a "Dick" and show the USA we've had enough of being bullied and if they can't stay out of Canadian business, we will shut our trade off with them. We may have a tough time for a bit, but I'm sure there's some countries that would love to up trade with us(Canada).

We don't need the United States as much as they need us.

Peace...Buddha

Ever since they threatened to closed to boarders to US-Canada trade, Canada has been building up it's own trade routes to Asia, Europe, etc. There little, if anything that we need America for, Harpers just a American politician with a Canadian Birth Certificate.

I completely agree with you Buddha, but unfortunately, our ties run deeper than just trade. Never mind the NHL, cross border family members, and cross border careers.. from both sides, but we also "kinda" depend on them in case someone attacked us. Not saying anyone would.. but lets face it.. we don't really have that big of a military.

There's also the fact they'd call us a Narco State.. not only would we'd lose power in the UN, but there'd also be sanctions placed on us. And if the US was pissed enough, who knows.. invade us like Panama?

Then again.. during Katrina, I got the feeling it took so damn long for the military to go in.. that they were too spread out around the world, and not enough at home. It looked as if "we" could have invaded. laugh
