I remember when Mexican pot was $15 an oz.,Columbian $30,and $35 would get you the best Panama Red you can dream of.
Ah,"the good old days",maybe they were warm and fuzzy. That old enough to be an "Old Timer"? Yep, back then everyone measured bags in fingers, and nobody but the white powder freaks used a set of scales to weigh weed, and the supply was so abundant, nobody that I ever heard of was stupid enough to even think of trying to cheat their customers. There was so much open space around Greater Miami,FL that growing was a snap. Not that many people knew the difference between marijuana plants and common weeds.

In the 60s it seemed like no one in Okie land had any idea what weed looked like. I was growing all over and no one ever ripped a plant, many of which I grew in view of a road. I don`t know about Oklahoma, but it`s been around a lot longer than some people realize; the worst thing that ever happened in my opinion is that it was either intentionally commercialized by the counter culture movement. When it started showing up in the posession of minors and hard drug abuse became too obvious to ignore, the shit hit the fan. You know soomething? Looking back, I can`t help but believe that the government itself hyped a crisis which the people on state and local levels could have easily handled themselves. In some instances the cops would have had to turn a blind eye to some actions taken, but the time was when it was pretty commonplace for the cops to allow communities to deal with their less than savory residents. Back in the day, as a child, I was welcomed into a bar and either ignored or fawned over by the clients while the barkeep kept an eye on the scene. Then again, people who were discovered corrupting children paid a very sttep price for doing so. I do not even see any cops walking the beat anymore. That sucks.

I know it was around years before that my point was no one knew what to look for. Ithink you're right on the govt. part. Anyone noticed all the shows on the tube that are about grows. they always say they are Mex. cartels and talk about innocent people getting killed. That 60% of cartel money comes from weed. Very one sided. You can also find advertisements of marijuana related businesses right here on the form dpicting scantily clad women which shows a desire to hype weed and leave an impression that it`s value and effects go far beyond what any reasonable human being should believe possible.I guess from what`s been reported and observed in photographs, open public smoking of marijuana at Occupy events is commonplace as is the acceptance of minors into the fold. The hype does not stop on one end of the spectrum,; it`s practically become a pandemic for both pros and cons. As if sticking it to the man is some kind of badge of honor. The government plays its games and the marketing schemes and exhibitionists play their games. I was 11 years old when I found out marijuana existed. My uncle pulled out a joint and fired it up. I told him that it smelled funny and he told me what he was doing, but he never offered any to me either. I`m hoping that one day soon all the crap on all sides will stop and compost because I really do not think that without the hype, marijuana would be attractive to the bulk of the population. As it is, most people use for awhile and eventually stop.
