Medi One.. WOW what a great product.
I have been using Medi One for over 2 years and have grown about 10 different strains with it. I really need good medicine and have now because of Medi One I have been able to Standardized Medical Cannabis Grows because of it. We were just published in Treating Yourself Magazine issue 32 pages 83-84 http://treatingyourself.com/images/issues/pdfs/issue32.pdf Standardized Medical Cannabis Grows By Doctor Paul Hornby

Congrats Dragon 420, and thanks for the free mag grin
What a welcome twist on the standardization of Cannabis! Work has been in progress in the US for decades on genetically modifying Cannabis toward a standardized minimum THC production, and the Medi-One folks have already found a way to standardize cannabinoid production toward maximum genetic potential.

I'm intrigued, and have ordered a bottle.
Reading a couple posts up....just want to clarify:

The grow medium was Pro-Mix HP without any amendments.
The only nutrition they received was Medi-One at 5 mL per liter weekly during veg.
During the flowering period, you mixed 10 mL per liter and applied at every watering for the first 35 days; from that point on, they just got water.

Correct?

Is this based on an 8-10 week bud cycle?
That is, if I were growing a 14-16 week sativa, should I extend the feedings proportionately?

Anxious for it to arrive pass

The magazine seems to be all hype and ads, just like Medi One.

Being a medical patient I wanted to have the best possible product so I gave Medi One a try because of the way they advertise their product.

Here's the scoop, the finished product was no better, wasn't any cleaner and wasn't any more medicinal.

I have a friend that works in a lab for an pesticide plant here and he is able to break down the finished product and get to the guts of things and from what his finding were, there was little to no difference to any of the products I brought him.

Flushing properly is the key to good meds. Don't let these people lead you down a path just because you are sick. They seem to be playing on the sickness to sell product.

The price they are asking is also a little high, if it was really worth it I would not have an issue about price, but when they say one thing and the outcome is different, well I might as well use Miracle Grow.

My opinions are based on my personal experience and that is all we can go on.

Thanks Haley, it was Dr Hornby that wanted standardized Cana-caps over and over and I was able to grow standardized cannabis with Medi One and we got standardized Cana-cap over and over smile.

Yes that is correct but that was for the strain that we working with.
Every strain is different and sativa are not what I am use to so I would personally feed till week 11 because I like a 30 day + flush .

I find that insulting, the article is about what I have done.
I have spent years trying to get the same standardized cannabis medicine for my conditions. After working with several different products I was able to do this with Medi One. Have you been able to standardize 4 grows in 4 different location by 4 different grows and produce the same efficacy of cannabis?

I would love to compare your analysis with ours, it would be cool to see.
What strain were you growing ?
What were you comparing it too?
How long did you flush each grow to get these analysis to compare?
I have so mant Q , been doing this for years and always interested in research.

Sorry John. I did not mean to insult you or your research.

Actually I applaud your efforts and did not tell you that in my first post. I think its great what you are trying to do!

I guess what I was saying was the magazine was kind of like 'Rosebud' some good info but more advertising for AN than anything else.

What gets me about Medi One is that their advertising is directed to people that are desperately looking for answers to their medical issues. I know, we will do and try anything if we think its going to help. With their advertising stratagy and the price you pay dictates it should be a better product, but sadly its all advertising and its just another fertilzer. The company seems to be praying on sick people.

I am no researcher by no means and have not based my findings from any outside sources. What I have done is created a baseline with 2 strains I use for medicinal, Great white shark and cheese with my standard nutes of choice(3 part AN). Once finished I flush for 5 days with 30L R/O every day then the last 5-7 days they dry out. Harvest, rack dry dropping 75-80% moisture. I take a sample to my friend for anylasis and breakdown.

I have done this exact test with both strains 2 times each with AN, Canna, and Medi One. I have also increased my flush by 100L in total with no change to the final product or results, In fact using a product called Final Flush increased my trace elements left.

I have not been able to access the lab in the last year, due to the fact that my friend has moved to another company in another city. Since his move I have not been testing at all and until I can I will rely on what I learnt so far.

Firstly, a BIG congrats to John for his success: hard work and patience does pay off!

John, may I ask what your ailment is ? I've been working on strains for chronic pain, and am always keenly interested in learning what I can about all medical aspects of our favourite herb. You can tell me to mind my own business, and I'll understand, as illness can be a very private thing.

Cheers

My C4-C5 is also compressed. Anterior wedging between T12-L1, my L3-L4 –L5 herniated discs slightly narrowed with early lipping I had major back sugery and I only took cannabis and amnio acids before and after sugery. Last of the back is a L5-S1 disc herniation with right S1 nerve impingement. Lots of PAIN!

I love tell people that I use cannabis and amino acids for all my conditions related to my fall at work and how it helps me with my pain control. I want people to better understand natural pain control so I educate and advocate for this amazing plant. If there is anything you would like to know please just ask and I hope I can help smile

This year at the Treating Yourself Expo in Toronto I won 2nd place for private grower smile
The best thing about this win is It was the same strain grown under the same conditions as last years. The strain JBs cut Medi Kush is heavy Indica and has a very unique cannabinoid profile. Paul and I have been able to standardize cannabis grows to produce standardize natural cannabis medicine and with theses growing techniques I won first prize in 2011 TY cannabis cup for private grower and I won second place with the same strain JBs Medi Kush this year, very cool:)!!

This is a article on Standardize cannabis for chronic pain that is published in a medical journal in Europe
