Ron Paul: Limbaugh apologized so he wouldn’t lose more sponsors

There was no sincerity in Rush Limbaugh’s apology to Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke, according to the perspective shared by Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) Sunday morning.

Appearing on CBS’ Face The Nation, Paul again called Limbaugh’s comments towards Fluke as “crude” and expressed that the controversial radio host became nervous
over losing sponsors, with currently six companies pulling their backing from his show.

“It’s in his best interest, that’s why he did it,” Paul said. “I don’t think he’s very apologetic. He’s doing it because some people were taking advertisements from his program. It was his bottom line he was concerned about.”

Imus calls Limbaugh ‘insincere pig’ after ‘slut’ apology

Fox Business Network host Don Imus is calling Rush Limbaugh an “insincere pig” after the conservative icon begrudgingly apologized to a Georgetown University law student for calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute.”
Imus continued: “I mean it’s disgraceful. You got to show some guts. He has no guts. Look what I did. And what I did was a lame attempt to be funny. And it was three words and I went and met with these people after I’d been fired! You got to show guts. He has no guts. He’s a punk.”

On his show Monday night, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart skewered conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.

Stewart first noted that many of his viewers made whoopee while his show was broadcasting, but warned them against engaging in “sexy time” because of the following segment.

“Tonight you might want to post-bone those activities,” he said, “because while the show will still be employing the Spanish fly that is a comedic take on political news, we will be mixing it with the electrodes to your genitals that is this cat, human cold shower Rush Limbaugh.”
