This is such an important part of any grower's kit, that once in a while it has to be emphasized.

You can bend or break any of the 'Rules of Growing Cannabis' and move on relatively unscathed, the 'Don't Tell Anyone' rule is THE one rule you never touch.
Now, rather than start ranting on with all the usual fear tactics, I'm going to ask peeps here to post their experiences when this rule was broken.

If you or someone you know ended up ripped, or busted, because someone talked, please post your story. I believe these will be far more effective than anything I could think up.

Great idea DB. Secerecy is absolutley the most important factor of a grow. using mediums such as these forums will give one the outlet they need to share their successes.

I don't have any stories to tell in this section though as I don't break the rule.

I am of the same thought process, loose lips sink ships as the old saying goes. To this point my wife is the only other living soul that know the scoop. Im sure some suspect something? but what?

Here's the kicker though, my health has become an issue and I can not install an a/c unit or water heater or drywall or or or or or or or, the list could go on.

Im planning on being around for awhile and would like to do good with the rest of the time I have. Helping others with my garden and medicine, legally.

Any suggestions on what one should do about maintenance and any upgrades in the future?

Im kinda between a rock and a hard place on the issue.

i am a walking testament to that rule..you all know me and know what my old account name was.
funny things lately.
pc being tracked and hacked my hide ip keeps getting dissabled from outside source. and now the past 2 weeks the flir heli has been rolling around my hood..super duper duper low.. i may be parry but when a military heli with obviouse cam equipment fly by the front of your house and back of your house like 20 times somethings up.it could be a neibor but uhhh yeahhhh parry parry parry..
i have taken all the steps just in case.

To emphasize the importance of this rule and how the wrong person to tell could be anyone.

Here's my story:

I have been growing for many many years.

I was very careful to not let anyone that wasn't directly involved know anything about my grow. Then one day my brother came over for a visit, he started to talk about my grow in the basement. My room was so hidden that the cops were over investigating a break in that happened when my son was home by himself and forgetting about the room called the cops. The investigation was finished by the time I returned home and the cops were gone, all they left was a file number. My son was 13 and thought he was doing right, I'm just happy they never talked to him about the grow, he would have never pulled it off, he's not a good liar at all...I was EXTREMELY lucky that night.

So, how did the brother know about it.

My brother told me my clone guy told him, my clone guy didn't think it was a big deal because it was my brother. I wasn't happy with the clone guy telling my brother, but what ever, he was my bro what's the harm. Then I caught wind that my brothers best friends knew all about me and my grow. I was pissed, talked to the bro and said "What the fuck man...you endangered my whole family telling these guys". His response was "don't worry these are my friends, there solid guys". I said "I thought you were solid and you told 3 guys. Now who are they going to tell". So soon as the next crop was done, I shut down. Got my brother to help me rip it down and pack it up, told him I sold everything, but I put it all in storage. I knew that the friends would be told, and I would be forgotten about in time.

Two moves and about a year and a half I was shut down, before I felt comfortable enough to start again. Now no one accept myself and the people directly involved know and I stress to these people that no one is to know, not even my brother.

I just wanted to get across to the inexperienced growers that no matter how trust worthy a person seems to you, never tell them anything. Everyone wants to be cool and know the guy who grew this great weed. Makes them feel important and special. They will talk to the people they trust and then they talk to the people they trust and so on and so on. Next thing you know, you're being ripped or arrested, because you told somebody you totally trusted, like your brother.

TRUST NO ONE...EVER!!!

I also have nothing much to add being as I don't talk about my grow. There is a reason it is rule #1. don't break that rule and you should be fine. The only person that knows is my wife, and that's the way it's going to stay as long as I grow.

For the weak amongst us who just has to tell someone, you're busting to brag about the world's best grow ever, this is what these forums are for. As long as you use common sense, keep personal info out of here, you can post pics and shout out for all to hear, yet (and here's the beauty of it) you're safe.

Great advice Doobie! Buddha, I hear what you are saying! I'm going through time with out growing as well. When you get to the point you are self sufficient it becomes time to reevaluate who you hang with. I mean some people will not keep their mouths shut, and that will create problems for you.

I am very quiet about what I do, that is why I am here everyday...so I can share my ideas and or questions in a safe forum with like minded people. I really do live life in a " cannabis culture". I nearly always have something on the go and for this reason I don't have a lot of friends come to the house and the friends that I do have...I go to their place to visit. I've always lived by these words.. Don't Tell ....Don't Sell
