I've been getting increasingly frustrated with the Pregnancy website I've been frequenting of late.

I'm just about 4 mos. along now and cannot stomach the idea of going to the same spot for the next six months (or beyond into parenthood) with all its annoying ads and seemingly pretentious biatches discussing their Gucci diaper bags, nannies and whatnot!

I'm just looking for a few spots where I can check out some posts and get a feel for the place, and MAYBE find some good conversation with down to earth expectant moms and/or new parents.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated; THANKS!

I honestly wish I could tell you. I frequented a site when I was pregnant but got quiet sick of the cliques and talk of buying $1,200 changing tables. I just wanted to say I feel your frustrating but sadly, I never found a decent place to mingle whilst pregnant. You MIGHT find some interesting gals to talk to there, though. I guess I just wasn't the personality that fit in there. Baby and bump was the place.

I was relying on the bump dot com, but haven't even been back lately to look at the "my pregnancy week by week" section for some of the very same reasons you mention

I just can't relate to someone in the position to spend that kind of money on the baby gear those "ladies" discuss.

Also pretty frustrating when "everyone" is apparently having the world's most perfect pregnancy, when mine has in fact been relatively difficult thus far.

Hang in there Weedy I know you'll make a great parent and it will be worth what you're going through.

I'm sure there are plenty of women who've had rough pregnancies... likely much rougher than mine. It does help to keep an eye on the prize; I know it will all be worth it in the end.

I just thought if I could connect with others who could at least relate it would help lift my spirit some.

Like Mom4 and I were discussing, good parenting certainly is a LOT more than expensive baby gear.

I know it's been a while since you posted, OP, but if you are on FaceCrack you might want to try the "Informed Choice: Birth and Beyond" group. Lots of alternative, crunchy and not-so-crunchy, healthy debate (or at least it was when I was on it a while back).

FWIW - I did join the FB group you suggested; seems to be EXACTLY the type of discussion(s) I've been looking for, so far.
