^I'm confused.

Having read Sir Ganga's post I would say that the genetics might not be their own and are relabeled as another strain but they are good nonetheless.

I know that a lot of companies do this and re-name their seeds and it is considered "good business" but I do not agree and try to buy from a company I feel comfortable with for their ethical practices.

I have had quite a bit to do with BC Bud in the past and because of those dealings I prefer to do my business elsewhere.

Too bad, Im Canadian.

Well that is interesting, since we do not carry a BC Mango or a BC Cheese.. at least not in the last 8 months, unless someone snuck that fact past me... Sort of like they snuck the whole breeding program right under my nose.

excuse the sarcasm. But no. VSB does NOT make their own seeds. NOR do they "re-label" seeds. to suggest they do is nothing short of slander.

Im sorry Sea, Are we talking the same place? Are the two affiliated? BC bud Depot and VSB. I thought they were.

Its been some time since I have dealt with them, BC Bud Depot, so I really do not know what they carry for seed genetics now, I took a look at their website since reading your last post and this is what I read, I have taken the quote right from their site.

"The BC Bud Depot produces the world's finest marijuana seeds with fast and discreet worldwide delivery at reasonable prices. You can order securely online by credit card, or with cash or international money order payments by mail. We take pride in developing award-winning cannabis strains and offering the most comprehensive marijuana seed bank worldwide. While 2007 brought us new wins for The Purps and Sweet God, 2008 for The Black, 2009 for The Purps and BC Mango, and 2010 for The Purps, God Bud and Texada Timewarp, every strain we carry has earned a place in our lineup of legendary breeds."

I believe if they do not produce their own seeds then their advertising is mis-leading. I do not live in BC so I have to rely on what I have read.

TP, I guess what Im trying to say is, a lot of time and money goes into these strains that are being developed by breeders. I do not think it is right IMO to take for example, breeder A's seed and mate it to breeder B's seed and come up with product C that you now sell as your own, or even worse, grow someone elses plants to seed then then sell them off relabelling them! Its one thing to dabble at home but mass production. We all know this happens and Im not saying they do it, but I have seen first hand some of their line up, and well lets just say "My spidy sences were tingling"

Now a joint venture between companies is another story all together.

I respect what these true breeders are doing and would rather pay them then these other folks. As for what went down at Greenhouse, that again, was all business and had no bearing on their quality Genitics they have built up. Ownership is the issue and that is for the laywers but that battle over genetics is different in the fact that some of these strains were developed while in business together, totally different in my book.

Soley my own opinion.

Vaper

What would make you assume that BC Bud Depot and Vancouver Seed Bank are related in anyway?

A word of advice to all cannabis forum users. Don't buy seeds from The Flying Dutchman (via any seed supplier). I got 10 POT OF GOLD seeds of which 9 sprouted and ALL were male after 8 weeks of veg and 2 weeks into bloom they finally showed their sex as male. 100% male seeds and when I contacted the seed supplier (Attitude Seedbank)and they told me to contact The Flying Dutchman to authorize a refund or replacement and guess what? The Flying Dutchman won't answer emails. So no plants, no medicine and out of pocket. Be warned, this is the first time in 35 years that this has happened to me so dont know what the The Flying Dutchman has done but they've been very successful in creating 100% male plants from seed.

Why does the dutchseedsshop.com make you fill out an account that has all of your personal info on it? just curious. They want your birthday, email address, phine number... What do they need all of that for. Seems suspicious to me...

Realize that you are dealing with a criminal organization, at the least they are guilty of mail fraud. Take all due caution, and if you don't feel safe, don't use that company, or any company.

Check out Greenman's Seedbankupdate.com for lists of reputable seed vendors. Greenman just rates the seed banks and is not affiliated with any one.

Check out aceseeds.org, they are a small group of breeders specializing in pure/landrace sativas (like Oldtimers Haze, which u can get seeds of just the green or purple pheno or the regular mixed pheno.) and hybrid pure sativas (like Nepalese Jam, or Vietnamese Black x Thai) but they do have some nice looking indicas too, like Pakistani Chitral Kush, Mazar i shariff afghani, another F6 afghani hybrid which is extremely cold resistant and great for outdoor grows above 45 degrees north, they also have this really exotic chinese indica that looks tasty.
