Why do we allow the use of this word? I think it is about time that we as a society (Cannabis Culture) Should ban the use of this slang word that has damaged this wonderful plant reputation.

This word has caused so much confusion in 80 yrs. that hemp and cannabis will never completely be able to shake.

Both hemp and cannabis have their place in our human society, but until we change the system, there will always be contraversy.

Change in the system is fought at every turn by big business and gov't.

This word is where it all started, and it should also be where reform starts.

IMO- Cannabis Culture should ban this word and we should follow by doing the same!

This would be a real start to reform.

I don't ban anyone for the foolish reasons you've stated, I'd like to see your proof of that. I ban people for chinese shoe or clothing ads, or breaking the rules about abuse of the other members here. I might change someone's color to pink, but that's as a head's up to the other moderators that "this is a person to be watched", I've rarely been wrong with my first impressions from people in here. A holes are easy to see.

I've never trusted politicians to do anything besides lie, cheat and steal, and my suggestion is to vote people OUT of office, every single time they are up for re election. Single terms, PERIOD, for everyone. I am also not one to "prohibit" words, except when I am modding here, and Ive got to follow the rules.

its funny on a website that is about promoting "freedoms" of people and there right to use cannabis, the forums itself has rules and regulations that dictate what people can and cant do, hmmm seems familiar, dont get me wrong I hate that we prohibit something that is completely harmless but allow other substances, ie: alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs to be sold and consumed freely, but i guess what im getting at is that people on this forum are fine with wanting to "moderate" and "control" what the rules deem to be inappropriate or "against the rules" but they cant seem to get it into there head that in the real world its the same, there are people out there that object or find cannabis use inappropriate, thus deeming it illegal even if someone else thinks that it is fine,

in this forum as in society there are rules and regulations that everyone must follow and the people in power will "moderate" and decide what is allowed and isn't

Banning won't help but education will. When someone uses the word marijuana when referring to pot educate them to the historic use of that word.

Like how "Marihuana, the Killer of Youth" or "Marijuana the Killer Weed" and other catch phrases were used to scare the public into submitting to new oppressions and relinquishing freedoms. Not unlike how "Terrorism" and "National Security" are used to the same effect today.

Weed is another word I don't like to see used in reference to pot unless it's something like "That shit grows like a weed!"

A weed to me is a noxious, useless and detrimental plant of no use to and maybe harmful to human kind.

Cannabis is no way fits that description.

Long held prejudices are hard to change even for the more enlightened of us. For the ignorant masses of sheeple it's damn near impossible but is gradually sinking in.

I think that it won't be that much longer until the whole house of cards that prohibition is built on will collapse.

The futility of it all is becoming apparent to more people every day and a tipping point is drawing nigh.

yeah i hope so, Im still pretty young, I hope that in my lifetime (for at least another 60 years) that the laws will change and one day cannabis will be legal and will be allowed to be cultivated by all and sold by some and possessed by anyone that wants it
