Got an Ez Cloner next day realized the simplicity. Built a 32 gallon rubber maid aero/dwc with 1/2inch pvc.

32gallon- heavy duty light resistant tote
4- net pots
300 some gallon pump
4- 360 ez clone sprayer
25-240 gallon air pump with 4 outlets.
2 -18 inch air bars
2- blue airstones.
hydroton in the net pots
Lighting
8 bulb Hydrofarm T5
The ideal is to veg in that system 1-2 weeks then be moved into individual 5 gallon buckets for full DWC under 600 HPS

I don't not have a PH Pen yet and
will be using Botanicare line id imagine as that is what I have in the past for soil.

Pure blend Pro Grow / Bloom
Liquid Karma
Cal/Mag
Sweet
Aquashield
Hydroplex

Any tips for 1st time Hydro.

go easy on any changes in your tank, slow increments as aero is rather unforgiving of mistakes. I commend you for seeing how simple it really is and creating your own, most folks pay big $$$ for something one can create them self really inexpensively.

That's a pretty broad question.. I doubt I'll be the only one to say that.. Sounds like you got'r handled..

How about a pic??? Someone may have some suggestions on design or something..

yea I know I just needed to break the ice. I have lots of actual questions but Ive been trying to read and not ask so much. figured this will be a place for me to ask them questions periodically and post updates. Sorry I forgot to add the bit.

so for my first newbie question.

My clones are at day 6 in ez cloner just showing nice rooting now maybe 1 inch starting to fish bone look too, Only have GH rapid start with some of the Clear Res by clonex with tap tap water. There is no new growth but roots are just starting and growing nice and white. When do I add veg nutes or should I just take them straight to my veg machine. I ask this because they are not growing anything but roots. Seem as if the leaves are yellowing and drying but the roots are getting bigger so I'm not concerned. It's probably only a matter of time till new growth or are the clones waiting for Veg nutes to even grow any. Thanks for all input .

Ive been reading a lot of the CC Hydro 101. With time hopefully I'll get it down to the science that it is. A lot of stuff to sink in though.

Once you see roots on them you can add a light nutrient I usually strat at 300 ppm. If they all have roots you can put them wherever they are going to spend the rest of their lives. I would leave the lights on veg cycle though..

You will see pretty soon that they realize thay are an actual plant, and the top growth will begin.. That part is fun to watch(well for my dumb ass anyways). Your doing the right thing Kepp reading. 101 was a little bit of a tough read for me in places. I had to look shit up so I understood some of it but it is good for starting hydro.(actually a must).

Good luck.

My only tip is don't let the roots get all intertwined and tangled together before you transplant them out.

I've had plants hermie after transplanting into 12/12 due to root damage, that just about killed me.

Purty sure it's not cause of root damage. Maybe you'd 12/12'ed too soon after a violent transplant.

When I have root bound plants, or even just slightly spinning, i rip the shit out of em. Takes a few days to recover though.

you could put these lemons through hell and back I don't think they hermie. Those are some true girls. I will keep an eye on the root mass though. Thanks for the tips.

I just got a CAP recycle timer 1min on/4 off and 600 watt phantom. Those will be used later in the 12/12.
I also finished 4 DIY 5 gallon Lowes buckets for that. I have another 4 valve Air pump running airstones in each bucket.

Would the timer be ok to use in 1 min on 4 off, on my aero cloner and aero veg? My cloner does run way hot. Still getting nice results but Ive read this is a nice remedy so the pumps aren't heating up solution.

im doing the same thing and the buckets your using is going to let in a little light but u can easily cover the buckets with black and white poly film by laying it ontop and cover the sides and cut spaces out of the film for the plant to go through. that will insure there is no light on the roots. Your sprayers oxidize the water so airstones wont need to be put in each bucket. i put two air stones in my rez tho. you can start at 1 on and 4 off but you can change it to suit your plants needs like toward then end of the cycle you could make it more time off so it could be 4 on 20 off for the roots to receive more oxygen. you can always experiment. and you can calculate how much gph your pump needs by multiplying the amount of gallons an hour the sprayers say they can max at, times how many sprayers you have. for instance i have 120 sprayers that can generate 14 gph thats 1680gph, i need a pump around that number for them to spray more efficiently
