In the ideological world of Stephen Harper, where unions are not to disrupt business and their collective bargaining rights are to be ignored, labour disputes will be met with the biggest, most blunt instrument that a majority government has in its arsenal.

Therefore, he said, the federal government will have to find another 40,000 jobs to eliminate — a drastic slashing that he predicted will cost the federal public service “a huge gap in knowledge and corporate memory.”

once again, somebody explain to me how tax cuts create jobs? somebody you know will lose their government job under this pirate tyranny.

“That one is sure to get shot down by the Supreme Court because that’s a substantial reform and that can’t be done without the consent of the provinces,” Franks told the Star’s Richard J. Brennan this week.

once again Captain Blah has assumed ownership and will assert his claim when his senate reform bill is challenged.

this is just the beginning, regret not voting yet?

"We expected that these documents would be flowing as early as last July and of course we've seen nothing," Harris said Tuesday.

Captain Blah will release the afghan detainee docs after question period today. this will prevent any instant backlash because the house will be recessed for summer break and not sit again until the second week of september.

“The Senate has ceased to be an independent chamber to review and test the merits of decisions by the House,” Mr. Martin said. “Now it is actually generating legislation, thwarting and undermining the decisions of the democratic chamber, and acting as a repository for partisan political operatives, active party workers, and sundry hacks and flacks and bagmen.”

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/poli...79/?from=sec431

the NDP will stifle cash-flow, the provinces will assert a constitutional challenge; the senate's days are numbered.

“Cumulatively, the documents leave one with the impression of (a) flawed Afghan judicial system that fall (sic) well below UN standards,” reads the memo, written by an adviser with the Afghanistan Task Force. “In addition, the assembled material may seem to suggest that Government of Canada messaging on the detainee issues for the last 12 months has been out of sync with reporting from the field.”

To reform the program, Ottawa would almost certainly need to hear from the medical community, sick people needing marijuana medication and other interested parties, the court was told.

CROCK OF SHIT. the Le Dain Commission presented in 1972 was ignored and the mountain of anecdotal evidence and research results accumulated since then have made little impact on ideological outlooks.

STOP THE WAR.

on the subject of ideology, it reminds me of a story, there was a farmer and his beloved dog died. he went to his priest and requested a funeral for the dog. the priest said, so sorry, but we only do that for people, the farmer replied that is too bad I was wanting to make a substantial donation to the church in my dogs name...the priest without taking a breathe, shot back...why didn't you tell me your dog was Catholic?

In 1999, when the Reform party staged a 42-hour filibuster in opposition to the government's passage of the Nisga'a treaty — an agreement to give British Columbia natives control over land in dispute — they introduced 471 amendments.
