Gary Johnson will be on the ballot in all 50 states. If he can get 15% support in the polls they have to let him in the debates. Where I think he would gather alot of support. Yes the Lib.s need more state and local canadates. One thing at a time.

Jon Stewart mocks Romney’s Israel gaffes: Jews are culturally money-making motherf*ckers

On his show Tuesday night, Daily Show host Jon Stewart mocked Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s latest series of gaffes.

While Romney was in Israel, the Republican candidate remarked at a fundraising event that the Israelis were more economically successful than the Palestinians because of their culture.

“Romney appears to be saying that the Palestinians are purely the architects of their own poverty, or, if you prefer to look at the converse, that Jews are culturally some money-making motherfuckers,” Stewart joked.

Romney also said Israel was prosperous thanks to the “hand of providence.”

“Again, Romney appears to be saying while Palestinian despair has its roots in their culture, God is also holding them down,” Stewart noted. “Or, if you prefer to look at the converse, Israel’s economic progress is evidence of the hand of providence — going to assume that all the horrible shit that happened to the Jews prior to that was the hand of providence’s middle finger.”

Maybe 6 years of not paying one pennies tax? Got to be something kept McCain from picking him and that he is afraid we'd hold against him.

This was posted by Welder Dan on another site, and I thought it was appropriate here:
"Being a Mormon, he's against ANY drugs. Being an authoritarian, he's for the drug war. Being a promoter of Big Business, he's going to side with the private Prison Industry, which has a HUGE stake in keeping MM illegal and lobbies heavily to keep it that way.

Mittens will make it worse than it is now "
The other thing Dan left out is that since he is pro Big Business; then he would support Big Pharma which doesn't like legalization either.

And Obama is not pro-legalization either; he's said this much as you've admitted.

So, why is HE any better than any other recognized candidate on the ballot? Gary Johnson, for example is outwardly FOR the outcome you seek on this issue - why not cast a vote for him?

I think it's because you fear that vote will unfavorably split the "two-party" scheme and swing it for Mitt. Thus you are down to perpetuate cannabis prohibition by voting for the lesser of two evils.

Other than that, you must believe Obama is the best man for the job and/or he most closely represents your interests in most areas.

Either way, it's your RIGHT to vote however you like.

Continuing the WoD, supporting imprisonment for victimless crimes, lack of integrity to his word - these things are all deal-breakers for me, personally.

Until there are more Governors, Senate, and House members that belong to a growing third party. It will remain a two party system that's just reality. Tea party doesn't count since they are just a radical wing of the Republicans.

You are right Roll but thing build they don't just appearso saying I won't vote for a third party because it isn't big enough is self-full-filling. How about since BOTH parties suck, both canidates suck, and if we help them stay in place just because the third party isn't big enough then the next time they do this to us we'll still be saying but the third party is to small. I think this is the very best time to help that third party grow because I don't care for either canidate. So I'll add my vote to that third party and if they lose then I'll hope they gain enough that the next time the two parties try this shit others will look back and think if I and all like minded friends had vote third party back then we wouldn't have this problem now. So I will have the courage of my convictions and vote third party to do otherwise is like a cow voting for the butcher who is killing cows slower. THAT COW STIL GETS KILLED! Have courage help build a third party.

Yes, help build a third party. But it is already too late for this election for a third party candidate to win! I voted for Ross Perot against voting for Bush Sr. or Clinton back in the day. Where is his party now? You will never have an independent party President if they only pop up every four years for the Presidential election. It will probably take a decade or more for another party to build up enough to challenge the two majors.

Gotta start some time. For me that time is now. Couldn't be a better time than a choice between a man I would never vote for Romney, a man who has been the worse for M/M that I have ever seen, or a third party who most likely would only win if the scared-d-cats would vote their heart instead of trying to pick the best of the two worst.

As has become the case in the Presidential elections that I remember (going back to Kennedy), it is more a vote for the man you dislike the least than an affirmation of great expectations. Dissatisfaction among those in the middle causes a breakaway candidate from time to time, but usually that because they have money to promote their cause. But then, it's quickly discovered that a political party is more than a set of ideals that bring people together. When the candidate fades, so does the banner they helped to create.

I suspect the Republican party will not resemble what it was a decade ago when this election is through, just as the Democratic party went through serious changes a couple of decades ago when their irrelevency had been forcast.

But, if you want to start a new political movement I believe you'll need to start at the local level and work up the ladder. Politics is as much a bureaucracy as it is a personality contest, so to win you have to play the game.
