Yes it's much more important that the big oil companies get their tax subsidies than wasting money on something stupid like nuclear security. After all everyone that might want to attack a nuclear plant is overseas.

McConnell: No real deficit deal until Obama is gone

The Senate's top Republican said Tuesday that he did not see a way for Republicans and Democrats to come to agreement on meaningful deficit reduction as long as President Obama remains in office.

"After years of discussions and months of negotiations, I have little question that as long as this president is in the Oval Office, a real solution is probably unattainable," Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said in remarks on the Senate floor.

That's no surprise here that they won't work with the Prez until they have a Republican in office. Then what will the "compromise" be? More tax breaks for the already wealthy, and no medicare for Grandma and Grandpa.

This pattern is very clear....

The ONLY one i've heard that will actually hurt me in my old age is Obama's proposal to raise the medicare to 67. I don't believe Ryan's plan was gonna bite like that.

Last time SS sent me a letter, I was going to work until I was 72 according to their numbers. Don't know why you are worried about medicare.

Because Ryan's plan lets the govt give you a set amount and you buy your insurance with it. You pay any difference. If you have cancer or say a heart attack then the Ins. Co. can raise your rates making a huge difference. Note lots of old people have those type problems that would let their rates be raised.

A quik tally includes: 1099 forms for ALL purchases over $600(thankfully overturned in the senate w/rep backing). $800.00 tax for health ins should one decide to forego having it for any reason(not applicable yet but it's mandated) Now, raising the medicare age(Obama's proposal)Not phasing it in over time as would be more palatable. Seems this bunch is busy regulating (or trying to regulate) more parts of my life than anyone i can think of since FDR(another dam fool democrat) stole everyone's gold!

you no the ryan plan they all voted for ..raised the dept by trillions over ten yrs ..if the repub were in charge of everything we'd be with out any soc programs at all [medicare,socsec]..and saving the country from dept for our children is a bunch of bullshit ..if they had control over everything theyd be spending just the same..

they want to cut all that, then stop the epa ..fda and any others that protect our water air ect..so saving the dept from the kids so they can have a place they cant even drink the water or breath the air ..
