BHO doesnt have to be complicated. to make good hash, you have to understand the trichome. i have a very basic and easy approach to the BHO process. no tubing needed. all that is needed is household materials.
take a plastic bottle of your choice. i prefer wider mouth bottles. drill a bunch of holes in the cap with a 1/32" drill bit. this will be where the butane exits the container.

turn the bottle over and drill a 1/4" hole in the bottom. this is where the butane tip will be inserted. i like to use the widest tip for the butane.
i happened to have a framed mirror laying around, so it is a perfect surface for this. i can keep the layer of butane thin allowing it to dry quicker.
if you have some spare pyrex casserole dishes, they can also be used to collect the butane when it exits the bottle.
remember to have PLENTY of ventilation wherever you plan on doing this. i prefer to do it indoors. i have a 4" can fane that i put facing out of the room, venting outdoors. butane can be very dangerous if proper precautions arent taken. also have some gloves and a face mask handy, so that way your hands dont freeze and you dont breath in the butane. it can make ya a lil light headed, hehe.
ok, so fill the bottle with shake, trim, or bud. i like it nice and tightly packed. screw the cap back on and slam a can of butane into the tip that you placed in the 1/4" hole in the bottom. i run 2 cans through each bottle. the first can freezes up the matter real good, while the second can flushes all the THC out of the bottle and onto whatever surface you choose. if using the mirror surface, or any flat glass surface, keep the bottle moving, so that way it doesnt pool up too much. the key is to keep the layer as thin as you can. repeat the process until you are out of product or butane. let sit to harden up.
if using pyrex dish, you can do a 'double boiler' technique to quickly purge the butane. for the mirror approach you can let sit for a couple hours or if in a rush, use a hair dryer to purge the butane, and scrape it up and place in a pyrex dish.
HOLD ON NOW, dont be smoking that just yet. it needs to be fully purged before smoking. there are a couple different ways to fully purge the butane from the glands. one way is to place it in the freezer for a bit, then take out and let it warm up to room temperature. repeat that 3-4 times and the butane should be purged enough to test out.
then there is the 'double boil' method. this involves placing your dish into a bigger one filled with warm water. i prefer to quicken the process and use a skillet on the stove. i fill up the skillet with water and heat it up. once at a boil i place the pyrex dish inside. i keep the stove on the lowest possible setting. this way my BHO is fully purged within a couple hrs. i have noticed no difference in quality between the two methods.
