Anybody who is against Marijuana, is going to mistake this mans "Passion" for "Insanity" This video (and a few other things) have made me concerned about having a lot to do with the Saskatchewan Marijuana Party.

The Saskatchewan NDP's official party position is already that Marijuana should be legalized for possession and (personal) cultivation. I think joining the NDP, earning some respect and sharing your views on Marijuana and the drug war is the best way to get something done.

When Marijuana came up in the campaign office in Yorkton, nobody said they thought Marijuana should be illegal! The whole conversation was about how Alcohol is so much worse than Marijuana.

Hi Kaleb - I'm a sask ndp member and I was proud to participate with the Sask MJ Party that day in Wawota. They are a great group of people that have done a tremendous amount of work to end prohibition and raise drug war issues in Saskatchewan.

Just getting the party officially registered was a hell of a lot of work from what I've gathered, plus the numerous rallies and other special events they've organized.

That's great your working within the NDP in Yorkton - I think we were in contact shortly before the Sask convention in march?

Anyway, point is, the NDP and the SKMP have had a great working and personal relationship in the past and we're working in Saskatchewan together.

Kaleb,

Maybe you should meet a few people from the party and judge based on that.

Wawota was not an SKMP event by any means. As the videographer for that event, I agree, we came on too strong at times. But, we were both inexperience at dealing with the full on assault we encountered and enthusiastic to do our bit.

It is too bad that you would use that video as an excuse to continue to do nothing.

Moe

Well I am going to be at the May 3rd Marijuana March. I figured the networking will be the best part of the event for me.

I will share my concerns with the SaskMP in a PM later. I have to go to work.

Great to hear you will be there. Maybe I will see you there. I will be the guy wearing a hemp touque and a goofy smile. \:\)

btw, it is the SKMP (SKMP.CA was unfortunately occupied when we started out).

It's the old divide and conquer strategy. Get the stoner activists fighting amongst themselves, that way they won't get anything useful done.

Every time you do an activist action you are taking a risk. What if you have a rally and nobody shows up? What if the media makes you look stupid? Maybe mistakes were made but all the media coverage was very positive. There were letters in the newspaper that took our side. We were described in the newspaper, as "about as harmful as the Muppets."

I was proud of that passion shown. If more passionate people were willing to show up and take a stand, maybe pot would have been legalized by now.

Let's not forget who the real enemy is here: the powers that be that want to lock you in jail for smoking the wrong plants.

We will see. If I cant find a place to sleep Saturday night in Regina, or get a ride back Saturday night (the bus leaves at 6:15 I thought it left much later). I dont think I can make it. I dont want to be outside all night in Regina, and by the time the March is over its pretty late to hitch hike home.

Is the Sask Marijuana Party website dead for everyone or just me?

It's dead at the moment. Not likely to come back any time soon. I'm surprised it's still registered. The person doing the books has been promised over and over again that people are going to put effort into bringing the party back and take it off her shoulders but honestly, I'm surprised it's not de-registered yet.
